(Playing as Hallgrim)
---------------------
If there was one place on the island that Hallgrim considered secret, it was his hideout.
Of course, it probably wasn't as secret as he thought. It was hard to miss a giant, overturned wooden ship rotting on one of Berk's many black-pebble beaches, especially when said ship had been sitting there for almost ten years. It was even harder to miss when a weak, flickering fire-light glinted through the hull's many cracks on most nights, cast by the meager fires that Hallgrim built to keep himself warm on cold winter nights.
Even with all of that, though, it was his safe space. For all he knew, nobody else knew of its existence... until now. It was today that Hallgrim chose to take Gladios, perhaps one of his first and only friends, to come and see where he slept.
He dashed through the forest nervously, Gladios in tow. They were getting close to the beach. Hallgrim could taste the salty sea air.

The Ox of a man happily followed after Hallgrim, eyes going from animal to animal among the pine needles and dull sand colored grass. It was always a joy to the ex-cage builder to stand among the twittering birds and scurrying rodents, of which would be seeded deep in their nests and burrows, sleeping away the cold, even so, the large viking could spot fluttering among the pines.
Once they reached the clearing, Gladios finally brought his gaze forwards, taking notice of the ship wreckage with widened eyes.
In his time on Berk so far, he'd slept mostly in stables or in a tent with Keirr, then again, he had only been on the island for a few days. Hallgrim... This shipwreck could very well be where he slept, for many long years. Though the realization was grim, Gladios kept a bright smile, looking around at the bits of wood stove about the beach, and once they reached the ship he lightly ran his hand over the damp and mossy wood. "No one else comes here?" He asked softly, speaking mostly to himself. He turned his attention back to his new friend, "I'm in surprise you have been able to live out here. It reminds me of the week I was stuck on Aska with Toothless." He hummed thoughtfully and nodded towards the fire.
"You need a bonfire. Bigger. Easier to feed. Reuseable. I can help you make one if you like?"

Hallgrim shrugged nervously. "Yeah, I, uh... yeah. I've been here a while, I guess you could say." He paused, looking at the shipwreck thoughtfully. "A bonfire? But... aren't those things huge? I dunno. I mean, the ship's pretty hard to set on fire as-is, since it's all... soggy."
He began trotting towards the ship, pebbles crunching in protest underfoot. He gestured for Gladios to follow.
The ship's main entrance was through a rotted-out section of the hull, about halfway down its side. A thick layer of moss and gods-know-what hung limply over it, barely stirring in the breeze. Hallgrim pushed them aside with ease and sighed as the ship's musty scent hit his nose.
The wreck's innards - Hallgrim's hideout - was a sizeable space, perhaps as large as one of Berk's smaller houses. The lichen encroaching on the walls gave the air a damp feel, and dozens upon dozens of wooden shelves had been haphazardly nailed to the walls, cluttered with all sorts of battered trinkets and rotten treasures. A roughly-woven hammock, complete with a pillow and linen blanket, hung from the ceiling, and space for a campfire had been cleared in one of the corners.
"D'you think that a bonfire could fit in here?" Hallgrim asked, turning to look back at Gladios, the giant of a man. The boy pushed aside a few chests in an attempt to make room for his friend to enter.

| GLADIOS HAGGARD TEXT - "Speech" - "Thought" Gladios let out a good natured laugh at the discovery of how small the inside was. “Perhaps too small for bonfire. I will see about making something big small... ah- medium.” He turned his eyes on the structure. He was no genius, but he could tell when something would or wouldn’t hold. Have to, for the profession of a builder... something he;d been doing since he could wield a hammer.
The ship looked fine enough to hold through wind or snow, the wood wasn’t rotted all the way through, but something knocking into it hard enoug, and it would topple, though, he wasn’t here to do any renovation,g just to enjoy the company of his friend. He’d suggest building improvements later. Perhaps when the ice was ore broken, as Hallgrim looked nervous. “I’m impressed with how it looks though. You did this all yourself?” |

Hallgrim nodded a bit, the barest flicker of a smile on his face. "Yeah," he said. "It's not much, I know, but I've been adding to this thing for years as time passes. So... yeah, I guess it's decent."
The boy trotted around the small space, clambering over random furniture. "So," he said. "Where do you think you could fit a fire in this thing? I guess I could do with discarding some of this stuff - I'm not a pack rat, I swear."
