Torunn clung for dear life onto Rustbane's neck, feeling rather fearful from their altitude. She had never ridden the Thorstopian before and the dragon likewise was not use to a human on his back. They had decided after a few months of bonding it was time to seal that deal with a first flight, something they had both been eager for. And at first, Torunn had rather enjoyed it, looking down upon the ocean and giving her yells and sounds of excitement as they swooped and dove. That was until Rustbane got a little too carried away and flew higher, doing more complex stunts that had his rider clinging to him out of fear.
But with still being young himself, the razorwhip like dragon found himself quickly tiring out, and his continued sudden drops had the blonde haired woman tensing. "Rustbane easy!" She exclaimed, gulping as he tried to maintain his altitude, metal scrapping metal as he flapped his wings, tongue lolling out as he didn't realize how difficult it was with a human. He gave a soft warble of apology, trying to maintain a decent speed and trying to keep level, but his sore wings and the extra weight was starting to take a toll on his young form, the dragon beginning to go down a bit faster than he wanted to.
As they were coming down to the island that seemed in constant autumn, it was clear to both they were were coming in too hot. "This is gonna hurt." Rustbane lost his last bit of strength, roaring in surprise as he went hurdling through the trees, crashing into the limbs with Torunn following suit, letting out grunts and oofs of pain before she landed with a hard thud and Rustbane with a louder thud and clanking of metal. The crash landing had them stunned for a moment, the Thorstopian growling in slight soreness, slowly pushing himself to his feet and shaking off some twigs and leaves, nudging his rider with concern.
"Ooww, that's going to leave a mark, or a few." She mumbled, resting a hand on his metal snout, slowly sitting up before shaking her head to shake out the leaves that collected on it. "That could have gone better." She sighed, Rustbane letting out a low growl of agreement, supporting Torunn as she pushed herself to her feet, brushing more leaves and other debris from her outfit.
