[Negative] Unfortunately, Torunn takes the Berserker aspect of the Berserker tribe a little too literal at times. She tends to be rambunctious, quick tempered, and gets in over her head with things. Authority and rules are something she rarely listens to or cares to follow, finding them only hindering and a nuisance. She loves to be care-free, wild, and act on her own instincts rather than by what others say. Torunn loves going to places she is not suppose to and causing mischief, regardless if its harmless fun or risks injury.
[Overall] Overall, Torunn is very much like any viking teen. She is rough around the edges, eager to prove her strength and skill, and can be rather hard headed. But, at her heart, Torunn is a dedicated, loyal person, willing to do what she needs for those she loves and for her village. She likes pressing her limits, exploring, and taking a risk, regardless of what people tell her and her tendency to follow her gut often gets her into trouble. She is a free spirited wild child but nevertheless isn't entirely a bad person, just has a while before her rebellious streak finds its way out. If it ever does.
Torunn was born a resident on the Isle of the Lost, belonging to the Berserker tribe. Her father has been a trader and merchant among the Berserkers since he was young and is married to Torunn's mother, a spear-maiden herself and a hunter. But, the two have had little to their names and by Viking standards have been poor and down on their luck for a few generations in their family. Nevertheless, the two have settled with their life and had Torunn two years after their marriage.
Though her parents have spent much of their lives working and providing for the family, neither one has had Torunn out of their sights. During her younger years, she would spend time around her father's trading/merchant post or she would be brought along with her mother on hunting trips, learning how to hunt and use a spear. Some of these hunting excursions can be seen sewn onto her outfit today, from wolf fangs and bear claws to boar tusks. It was one of the many things Torunn enjoyed with her mother.
But, when she reached the age of nine, Torunn became more aware of just how much her family struggled. She overheard her parents possibly having to resort to overseas trading just to get more money to get by, and that Torunn may have to be sent to one of her family's relatives who were a bit better off. Angered she had no say in anything about such changes, she began to act out, more so when her family started packing her things to go through with the plan and she was sent to her father's sister's house in another part of the village.
Torunn began running with a bunch of unruly Viking youths, learning to steal, sneak around, and make use of the village in different ways to get around. Using the skills her mother taught her in using what was available to her, Torunn became a rather skilled thief and often spent her days out of her aunt's house much to her chagrin. If she wasn't sneaking out to the more wild parts of the isle or doing her thieving, Torunn found herself admiring the new chief's sister, Heather and her razorwhip. She would often watch her training, patrols, and even met the raven haired woman a time or two. On a few occasions, Torunn has even joined in on training sessions, leading to a desire to become a dragon rider herself for the Berserkers.
But, Torunn was always too shy to approach Heather to ask for advice or think of what dragon she wanted. When Heather left to Berk recently, Torunn was determined to follow her idle and show her she was capable of being a dragon rider, deciding to head out to find her own razorwhip or at least some kind of dragon she could ride. Much to her surprise, Torunn stumbled upon the Thorstopian, a Razorwhip subspecies, on the Isle of the Hunt, which seemed young as she was and curious about the human. It was only an adolescent like herself and though not an actual razorwhip, Torunn named the dragon Rustbane and began trying to train the dragon, having taken a few months to feed him, talk with him, and play with him before their first flight.
[Name] Rustbane
[Class] Sharp
[Species] Thorstopian, (Razorwhip subspecies)
[Appearance] Rustbane resembles a young, adolescent Razorwhip, with the long snout, metallic plated scales, and the metal wings. He is a quadruped dragon that is not quite fully grown and has the curving horn seen in the Razorwhip, metallic like eye brows, and a variation in the scale size with large, smooth, metal overlapping scales on the top, a smooth metal head and wings, and smaller, overlapping scales on the under part of his body. But, his curving horn is thicker and shorter than the Razorwhip, his tail lacks the microscopic thin metal blades but the tail is still somewhat long and prehensile but thicker in size, and his coloration looks something more akin to rusted metal. This gives him a reddish bronze look on the top which fades into a metallic reddish purple, faint pink in the lower part of the wings, and ruby red eyes. He still, however, retains the sharpness of his claws and wing edges.
[Temperament] Rustbane is somewhat opposite from his rider. He is more carefree, out-going, and curious in nature than some dragons and is rather friendly and helpful towards others. Being still young though, he does get into some mischief and isn't exactly one for authority, something him and Torunn do have in common. But, he is also somewhat wild and energetic, once more something he shares with Torunn but he is more laid back, humble, and willing to try to work with others compared to Torunn. In a sense, Rustbane is something of a buffer and anchor for his new rider, having learned to tolerate her wilder, trouble prone ways and in fact tries to help her rein in her temper if it pops up.
