Yu Lin
age 16 | gender Female | Alignment Chaotic Good |
Group Middle Kingdom | SEXUALITY Homosexual | Profession Wanderer |
PERSONALITY,
[Positive] Sharp as a whip, Yu has a knack for figuring out new things and research. She is quite smart despite coming from a farming village. She is also generally kind, with some exceptions, willing to help just about anyone who needs it. She is also quite curious.
[Negative] Despite being rather kind, she is very fiery and can easily be angered. She also had a tendency to sass people and to speak her mind rather rudely, although the latter might be the cause of the language barrier.
[Overall] Yu is a smart, kind, and humorous girl, but she has a temper and can come off as very rude at times.

HISTORY,
Yu hails from a far-off place barely ever touched by Vikings called the Middle Kingdom. Her home, unlike the divided clans and tribes of the Vikings, is unified under the rule of an emperor... although unlike the very involved nature of the chieftain, peasants rarely meet this man.
She was born to the Lin family in a northeastern province near a river that flowed in from the north, into a family of peasant farmers. Firstborn and female, she was a disappointment, as they'd wanted a son, but her family kept her and loved her anyways. They needed the help farming.
A curious young girl, she explored around her village and got into every nook and cranny possible. This would continue late into her teens, when she went off exploring one day instead of working. When she came home, though, everything was in ruins with strange men loading into longboats. She hid and watched them. She took note of their symbol, three interconnected triangles surrounded by a circle and foreign writing. It was all over their backs and their shields.
Once they were gone, she picked up a discarded shield and stared long and hard at it. There would be vengeance. As if hearing her wish for revenge, a Long dragon descended next to her. The village guardian. She shouted at him, demanding where he'd been while everyone was dying. Since he could not speak, all he was able to do was comfort her.
Part of her came to realize that this beast was not a god, but a living creature like her that could only do so much, so she forgave him after her anger quickly burned out. It turned to sorrow as she helplessly sobbed. The dragon motioned with its head towards the north, where the raiders had come from. She realized what he meant. The only way to get closure was to seek answers. Thus, she began her travels with the dragon Bijong.
Recently, she has found Vikings, but she knows little about them. Of course, she has learned a lot traveling, but these people are new and different to her. And they all look like the men who killed her family.

DRAGONS,
[Name] Bijong
[Class] Stoker|Boulder|Tracker|Mystery|Tidal|Sharp|Strike
[Species] Undiscovered (Pearlkeeper/Long [in traditional language])
[Appearance] Bijong is a a rather large dragon, but not in the sense that he is bulky. No, he is long and thin, with fur along his spine. On his head, he has horns and whiskers. In one claw, he carries a large pearl.
[Temperament] Bijong is abnormally smart compared to the dragons the vikings encounter, although it is typical for Longs. He seemingly understands humans and their ways, being completely fascinated with human things. He is generally laid back, but gets serious attitude when his pearl is threatened.
