PERSONALITY,
[Positive] Aslak is a gentle and painfully soft spoken young man, he always seems to be whispering, which makes him a soothing person to speak to when one needs to escape from the noise of village life. He cares deeply about all living things, human, dragon, or otherwise, but it not so naive that he is against putting one out of their misery if they are clearly suffering, whether they have given permission or not.
He wants nothing more than to help, and will often put himself out to do so, but he is a devoted person to have around if you can get past the sometimes unsettling nature in the way he talks and carries himself.
[Negative] But he is an enigma on top of all of his good traits, people always get the feeling that he is less innocent than he presents, which is untrue, but it never stops people from feeling uncomfortable and unnerved around him. He is painfully shy, and often spoken over because of this. He has a very strange relationship with death, holding no fear of it for himself or those around him, this makes him more than willing to take life if the situation calls for it, and he has acted as an "angel of death" to those who seemed to be suffering greatly, with or without permission.
He has a very paper thin grasp on reality, and often seems unconvinced that he or anything around him is real, sometimes he takes on a hundred yard stare, seeming to leave his body and go elsewhere, only to come back to focus completely unsure of where he is or was.
[Overall] He is an endlessly sweet and gentle young man who clearly suffers from some mental misfirings, he seems eerily capable of killing, and will do so if needed, but for the most part he is an innocent, and rather child-like soul who only wants to help...With whatever means necessary.
[Extra] Aslak suffers from fairly severe photo-sensitivity, due to being at least partially albino, he can't handle direct sunlight without his skin burning and his eyes being damaged relatively quickly. Because of this he tends to keep most of his body covered, and shields his face with his incredibly wide brimmed hat.

HISTORY,
Before he came to Berk, Aslak was an assassin for hire, coveted because of his ability to seemingly strike a target before they even realized he was there. None know of this aspect of him, though some certainly feel that there is a darker side to the sweet boy. He left behind that way of life when he was sent to kill a target that he could not bring himself to kill.
Not much is known about Aslak's time before becoming an assassin, as he has almost entirely repressed whatever dark things happened there.
