A PERFECTLY CONSTRUCTED ALIBI
Toothless could tell that Hiccup was not as okay as he wanted everyone else to think he was, between the incident with Viggo, and the things he'd learned...Toothless was the only one besides Serana who knew what had happened, and it had been a struggle for even him to draw the story out of his rider. He was worried, he could tell that he was hurt beyond the healing scar on the man's neck, the nervous glances over his shoulder every other moment, and he was somehow sleeping less than he already had been. He didn't quite understand why they were flying out here of all places...But it had been what Hiccup wanted...And the night fury supposed maybe Dagur could help where no one else seemed able to.
Of course, the truth was, even Hiccup didn't know what he was looking for flying out here. Dagur always seemed keen to help, and being around Berk right now just seemed to be building up more stress, as much as he hated to admit it...So he supposed maybe a change of scenery for a day or two, in a place where he wasn't expected to be a chief, where he could just be a citizen, a guest...It sounded nice in theory...But then it was also a grab bag as to what he would end up getting with Dagur, it was also better than festering at home feeling himself slowly losing his mind.
He'd tried, at least, to make himself look like less than a nervous wreck, groomed and pulled back as much as his wild, unmanageable hair could be, his face was still fairly smooth from being shaved for that damn mission, and he'd foregone the armor for something more comfortable...But it was hard to cover up the tired in his eyes, the dark circles, he hoped maybe being away from the source of the problem would chase away these nightmares for a while...
He called a greeting when he touched down near the stables, making sure Toothless was situated comfortably before turning his feet towards the citadel. When he was allowed in through the massive doors, he caught one of the servants, kindly asking them to go find Dagur, to let him know he was here. He had a fairly good lay of the land in this massive place, which was both a good and bad thing, because it was a testament to how many times he'd been in here. But it made it fairly easy to find a sitting room, where he could wait for the other chief to come and find him.
