"Hiccup" - "Toothless"
A PERFECTLY CONSTRUCTED ALIBI
Out of all the people that he felt he needed to tell, Fishlegs felt the most important. Fishlegs had been his friend before anyone else, before anything with the dragons, before toothless, he'd been the first one to make an effort to talk to him, and he considered Fishlegs like a brother because of it. They were a lot a like, and he felt like he was the first person he needed to tell, because he would be the one he could count on over anyone else if any of this did go down.
It felt like a lifetime ago that they'd built this treehouse, neither had meant for it to get so beaten up, but with his own duties and Fishleg's, they'd just stopped coming out here. It felt right though, meeting him out here, and he figured if he fixed it up, then maybe the place could be of use to other kids.
Hiccup had packed up as many tools and building things as he could to bring out here, and he'd asked Fishlegs earlier that day to meet him here after lunch. He hadn't told him that he planned on fixing the place up, he figured he could to that when he arrived. For now, he set his things down and glanced back at the Night Fury following behind him, "this is it! Sure does need some love though, we used to hide here all the time!" He chuckled, pulling out his book and opening it to the original sketch he'd done of the place, "feels like ages ago..." It really wasn't...But it put a point on how old and tired he felt these days.
He sighed, tucking the book back in his satchel, which he slipped off as he sat with his back to the old tree, waiting for his friend to show up.
