Henretta hadn't slept with Gummy that night, but had instead gone to bed with Gustav, after the insadents of the day, what with almost dying and all... it was hard for her to even let go to tell Valka and a few others that the sand wraiths were safe and in the academy with Serana watching them, Valka asked why she hadn't told Hiccup instead but she hasn't replied. She was furious with the he chief... furious was a slight understatement. She was so angry that she hadn't been able to sleep, thinking instead about what to do about Hiccup. She couldn't just fight him outright, that wasn't how to get a point across no matter how angry... oh but she felt like she should give him a beat down... Seething, the woman woke up with Gustav in her arms still- got herself ready to greet the day, and marched to the man's house, stomping inside past a very confused Valka, and up stairs to Hiccup's room where she proceeded to kick his door open, uncaring if he was asleep or if his dragon was in the room or not. She sat herself on his bed, her hair up messily as if she had rushed it, and her goggles were in her forehead with her arms crossed over her chest, as if she expected Hiccup to already know what wrong he hadn't done.

Toothless' head popped up the moment the door was kicked down, and he jumped up, taking a step to greet Henry before he saw the fire in her eyes. The Night Fury knew exactly what had gone down, and he gave her a look that spoke volumes as he stepped out of the room. Hiccup needed to hear whatever she had to say, and then when she was finished speaking her piece, the dragon would speak his, this whole mess had gone on long enough, and when other people were being put in danger because his rider felt he wasn't allowed to ask for help...He needed to stop this.
The chief jumped as well when he heard the door slam open, clutching his chest as his heart hammered, until he saw who it was, and his expression fell. He had a feeling he knew why she was here, he hadn't been given the details of...Well...Any of it...But Toothless had at least told him that the mission...If you could call it that...Went sour. It was a mission that was less a mission and more a frustrated attempt to get Gustav out of his hair, which he seemed to be doing more frequently lately, and he knew they were close. He didn't meet her eyes for a moment before he let out a breath and got out of bed, glancing at her, "You have things to say." He kept his eyes on her, gesturing for her to speak. "Yeah I have some thing to say. The only reason my fist isn't down your throat right now is because you're the chief." She threatened, eyes glaring daggers at Hiccup as stood up, seyes locked with Hiccup's as she spoke, trying not to raise her voice. "You sent Gustav on that mission alone. Just to get him to leave you alone. I wouldn't expect anyone else, anyone else, to treat him like that. I had no idea this was an on going thing, or I would have said something when you sent him to Friga when we were decorating." She stepped close, clenching her jaw, not very good at holding anything back, "And you sent him on a real mission alone! If he hadn't of asked me to come he would be dead Hiccup! Hel, I went with him and we still almost died anyway! And I swear to gods if you even think it was his fault for this stupid bad luck bull shit I will smack sense into you, because this time it was your fault, this was a real mission with a real dragon in trouble, and I bet you didn't even think he could fucking pull it off, did you? Did you?!" She didn't give the boy a chance to answer as she continued, "What the hell kind of person do you have to be to get annoyed by a friend just because he has problems? Don't you think that weighs on his shoulders too?" WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Nothing could have prepared him for the anger that sparked off of her like an out of control wild fire, and he felt the heat just as intensely. She was right, and he knew it, so he didn't say anything, he just met her gaze with the most level expression that he could. When she mentioned the mission though, he was brought up short, he'd heard that it went badly, but he hadn't heard anything about anyone nearly dying. He opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by her continued ranting, and this time he did turn his eyes away, shame on his face, because she was right, he had doubted his abilities, had he really almost gotten them both killed?
When she finally gave some kind of pause, he took a moment to compose himself, before he finally pulled his eyes from the floor to meet her's, "I've never thought he was bad luck." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, "it just became...Easier...I guess...To send him off...Or pass him to someone else..." No matter how he said that it would end up sounding awful, because it was awful, it felt like everything he was doing lately was awful...He couldn't really blame the whispers in moments like this.
"I never intended for him to get hurt sending him out there, I never intended for either of you to be hurt...I didn't...Really think about...How it would make Gustav feel..." He sighed and sat back on the bed, shaking his head, "I didn't figure anything would come of it, much less...That..." He looked up at her with a tired look on his face, "what really happened? You said you almost died? What happened out there?" WORDS: 000 TAGS: 000 NOTES: "Speech"

Henry grabbed him by the wrist, her grip not quite tight enough to hurt, just to grab his attention. "Shut up, I'm not done yet you ass! You can ask him about the mission your damn self!" She practically threw his arm back into his control and continued her rant, "There's no excuse, because you wouldn't have sent Toothless off if he was accident prone. You wouldn't do that to any of your closest friends, would you? You shouldn't have ever started doing this kind of crap, nothing in this life is easy, and you're the one making it harder on someone. Does that remind you of anyone Hiccup? Acting just like your dad, are we? It's easier just to send the boy off and pretend he doesn't exist he can't put you out and embarrass you!?" Hiccup's good eye widened when she grabbed his wrist, and he looked up at here from where he was sitting with a surprised expression, which quickly became deeply ashamed as he turned his eyes away. Her words stung, less because of the contents and more because of the truth, "you're right..." His voice was small when he replied, and he could think of nothing else, because she was right, and nothing he said could make what he'd done better. When she compared him to his father, he flinched a little, and nodded, finally looking back up at her, "you're right, Henry, I have been...Acting like my father..."
He rubbed the bridge of his nose and let out a sigh, looking a little lost for words, "I haven't done right by Gustav since the start, and sure he gets under my skin sometimes...But Odin knows I get under everyone's skin sometimes too..." He rubbed his hands over his face, "he tries, I know he does, because I've been there...I'm just...Sorry it took you kicking my ass for me to see it..." He didn't meet her eyes for a while, then looked up at her, "are...You both okay though?" WORDS: 000 TAGS: 000 NOTES: "Speech"

Henretta's expression softened and she sat herself on the bed beside Hiccup with a long sigh. "If you pull something like that again I'll actually kick your ass." She said half jokingly, resting her head on Hiccup's shoudler. "Long story short we were surrounded on a cliff and I thought Gummy was in the other side of the island so I grabbed Gustav and jumped, I was planning on hitting the ground with my body taking most the impact, that way Gustav would leave with Gummy with the worst damage being a possible broken foot." He half smiled when she sat down, giving her an assured nod, "if I ever pull something like this again...I'll gladly let you kick my ass..." He gave her a slight nudge when she rested her head against his shoulder, glad that the tense heat in the air had somewhat dissipated. He glanced over when she spoke, his good eye widening considerably as she so casually recounted what had happened, "great Odin's ghost..." He ran his hands over his face, "I didn't think there would be hunters in the area...I would have never sent Gustav out there if I'd of known that Viggo's men were there waiting..." He let out a breath and sunk his head into his hands, "I almost got you both killed...Gods..." He mumbled this to himself, feeling a heavier weight settling on his tightly wound shoulders, it felt like more got added to that every day, he looked to the side to her finally, "I'm...So sorry...I'm so sorry..." Henry rolled her eyes and shoved him down on the bed, thumping his nose and shaking her head, "You should know by now I don't accept apologies. You're a friend, I forgave you before you did anything wrong. Nothing that happened is anyone's fault... it just happened. And everything happens for a reason. Maybe the reason was so you won't make the same mistake twice." She stood up and dusted herself off, "Aside from that we have the sand wraith and his mother secured, Serana is watching them. ... I don't know what Viggo wants with all these Titans but he didn't get this one," She put her goggles over her eyes and huffed, "You're doing a good job keeping this villiage together. I don't know what you're hiding Hiccup but I can tell it's a lot... I'll leave you to your morning then, I'm off to Gustav's if you need me."

He looked surprised when she pushed him back onto his bed, laughing as he propped himself up on his elbows and wiggled his nose, "I just wish learning not to make the same mistake twice didn't almost cost two people I care about their lives..." He heaved a heavy sigh, shaking his head, "I suppose that's the nature of learning...I'm glad the dragons are safe though." He would have to see Gustav and tell him he'd done a good job later, the kid deserved that.
He was surprised when she brought up that he was hiding something, the words caught him off guard and he glanced to the side, swallowing, "I'm..." He started, then trailed off, was he keeping it together? From the things he'd heard...He didn't think so...He waved her off though and chuckled, "alright...Thanks for...Kicking my ass again..." He looked to the side, "lets hope you don't have to again anytime soon..."
Toothless had been listening in to the tail end of their conversation, and he hated the thought of betraying his rider's trust, but he also knew Hiccup well enough to know that the man wanted someone to know, but he'd never been good at crying for help when he was drowning.
When Henry left the room, Toothless stopped her short, looking up at her with a look like he wanted her to follow him, slipping down the stairs and out through the front door. When they were both outside, he fixed her with a grave look, "there are whispers around the village, whispers that threaten Hiccup's life. He knows. But he doesn't know who's involved and who's just spreading it...They want to rebel, to usurp, they're losing faith in him as quickly as he is losing faith in himself." He looked up towards the man's bedroom window, worry shining in his eyes, "he's falling apart, he's fighting a war on all sides, and he's tired...He hasn't been sleeping either..." He left it here, lowering his head a little. WORDS: 000 TAGS: 000 NOTES: "Speech"

Henry gave him an assuring smile as she left, surprised to be stopped by Toothless, and followed him outside quietly, noticing Valka had left... oh well. She was surprised when he spoke of ... usurpation. "Gods... I fucking knew it." She pet the dragon's head and knelt down, resting her head against his gently, "I'm not the one who can break Hiccup on this, too many times of me beating stuff out of him will render my method useless... I'll get Valka to talk with him. This is something Hiccup could use his mother to help with." She kissed his nose and stood up, "I won't tell anyone else what's going on... but if you find out who's starting this kind of talk then tell me, okay?" WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES
