Henretta knew about the vikings of Berk and their hatred for dragons, even though they had nests of them within their own hills and beaches on their island. Like the dragons Henry was staying with, for example. Who needed humans parents when you could have dragon ones? She had taught them to hide and run rather than fly off, though Gummy couldn't really fly anyway. He was a slow learner, but his mother was working on it. In the mean time, they were gathering sticks for a fire, something Henry had shown the dragon's that helped keep them all warm at night, though they usually slept together anyway.
The father of the nest was out gathering fish while her and Gummy were at raven point, having fun together as they collected sticks. Henry gasped as she picked one up and saw a fuzzy little creature on it, inching it's way around. "Look," She called excitedly to Gummy, showing him the creature on the stick, "A Caterpillar!" He crooned curiously in response. She let the bug off on a leaf and added the stick to the cluster in her arms, "See, this is why we're friends. We appreciate the little things." She said and pet his head, and the navy blue dragon crooned in response, hardly coming up to the girls waist since Dragons aged differently than humans. She could still pick him up with relative ease. "I think we have enough, let's head back." Gummy nodded in agreement and suddenly stopped in his tracks, pointing his nose in the air, sniffing worriedly. Henry stopped as well, that was a sign of danger... normally of the human kind. Suddenly a group of Berkian's came into view, catching sight of the dragon and the girl their walk turned into a faster paced trot. Before they could start running Henry dropped the sticks and turned tail, fleeing in the other direction, looking over her shoulder to check and see that Gummy was behind her. The smaller dragon caught up with ease, racing along side his friend as they headed towards the only direction there was... Up.
Voices of men calling out to her and the dragon could be heard just a little ways behind the trees, though Henry wasn't stopping for nothing. She wouldn't let a bunch of men take her from her friend, or take her friend's life. The small girl gasped as they neared the clearing, and she skidded to a halt, panting heavily and looking around for somewhere to go... There was a man breaching the clearing on either side... which left two or three in other areas. She couldn't. She couldn't let them take him!. "I'm sorry Gummy. Maybe in another life." She said with a determined look, fixing her goggles on her face as she scooped up the squawking dragon in her arms, who was panicking about what his rider might be doing before she jumped, eyes shut tight and expression blank as she waited for the feel of impact beneath her... though the sound of wings flapping and the sensation of slowly falling greeted her instead. She slowly opened an eye and gasped in awe as she looked up at Gummy, who was fighting as if trying to save her life, even though her plan would have saved his. "You did it! You're flying... sort of!" She said and once low enough she dropped to the ground, rolling as to not get hurt still, and hugged her dragon as she landed, heart thumping loudly in her chest.
"I knew you had it in you! We're such good friends that you can do the impossible!" She twirled in a circle and looked back up at the cliff. "C'mon Gummy let's go. No bad guys will have your head while I'm around. Ever." She said and nudged him, and started walking, and he nudged her back playfully squawking.
