Who knew that trying to find an island of dragon riders would be so hard?! Eren had been flying for what felt like forever! He pat his typhoomarang's head gently, who snorted in response. Rose seemed just as agitated as her rider at the lack of land, but both their instincts were telling them to keep going, besides, like hell they'd give up!

Eren sighed sharply, rubbing his eyes tiredly as he looked tot he left, an island coming into view on the left... Could it be? "There," He said out loud, the rose pink dragon below him was already working on changing course and heading towards land, making growl like purrs as they neared berk. "I told you we could find it without a map!" The boy said proudly, puffing his chest out as his chocolate brown locks flowed in the wind, though Rosaline rolled her eyes and landed. Eren slid off of her neck, petting her head affectionately as he put his hands on his hips and took the mask over his face down, looking around expectantly, unsure of what to do really at this point. How... How did one join the riders, exactly?

[attr="class","typetext"] Gustav had spotted the pair from fairly far off, and seeing that no one had made any effort to go greet them, he was fairly sure that he was the only one who had. He was excited, he usually wasn't the first to know about anything, and this was his chance to maybe get to someone before everyone else could tell them how much of a pain in the ass they thought he was.

It felt good to be able to fly Fanghook again, Hiccup had done a good job, as usual, fashioning him a fix for the missing spines and the injuries he'd sustained in the crash. He was fairly sure Fang was pleased with his new additions, as usual with the things that Hiccup built, the prosthetics were flashy and made to look fairly cool, and Fang ate that up like the ham that he was. He pointed to the pair with a grin to the Nightmare, and the pair made a quick dive to land in front of them, "ahoy!" He grinned as he slid off Fanghook's back, "welcome to Berk!" He made a quick sweep of his clothes, which made it obvious where he'd flown in from, "I'm Gustav, we don't really get many from your area around here." He looked curious as he glanced up at the boy, who wasn't THAT much taller than him, but enough that he did still have to look up at him, "what's your name? What brings you to Berk?"

Eren didn't really care to notice how short the boy was, as from his experience he was shorter than most as well. He beamed at the boy's introduction, "I'm Eren Jaeger. I'm from the defenders of the wing... but they're less defending dragons and more sitting on their asses whining about what's happening, so I thought I'd come to one of the groups that actually helps dragons, join one as a rider. I've got my own dragon and everything." Rose behind him chuffed in greeting, snorting smoke out of her nose as two Vikings passing gawked at her. Eren didn't seem to notice, "Do you know any leaders of the rider teams? I mean, considering you have a dragon with those sort of..." he tilted his head at the prosthetics, trying to piece it in his Indy what that meant... his dragon used to have wounds... so maybe he was a fighter? His eyes widened and his smile doubled, "You're a rider! Ah, I'm honored to help in any way I can, and possibly join one of your ranks!"

He perked up when he explained who he was and what he was doing here, taking Eren's hand and giving it an enthusiastic shake, "Well you came to the best possible place for that! We help as many as we can, nice to have a new face around." He glanced around to the dragon with him, looking up at her with an appreciative smile, "she's beautiful, what's her name?" He glanced to the side, a small glint of confliction crossing his face...Should he tell him about Hiccup? It didn't last very long, "Yeah! In fact...I'm one of them!" He grinned, crossing his arms over his chest and indicating himself with a thumb, "Captain of Berk's Auxiliary Riders!"

He gestured to his own dragon with a grin, "this is Fanghook, my wingman!" The Nightmare gave a loud, friendly greeting, before Gustav held out a hand to the other boy, "well, Eren, you're welcome on my team! You came here looking to help, and we could use all the help we can get, so welcome aboard!" He looked him over and waved a hand for them to follow, "you've both gotta be starving after the flight over here, you'll have to meet Henry too!" Hiccup had enough people on his side, and if he knew the chief, he would waffle for days on what to do with Eren, he wanted to help now, and Gustav saw no reason to deny him that.

"Her name is Rosaline," He introduced her, and the female crooned in greeting, meanwhile Eren went bug eyed. "Captain?! I-It's an honor to be here then sir!" He beamed excitedly, quick to follow behind Gustav with a smiler bigger than he had worn since he left the defenders, more at the mention of being on the team rather than food. Though, food sounded good too! Rose walked along behind them, beside Fanghook, eying the smaller male dragon slightly. 

"Captain, hmm?" She asked with a smile at him, head lowered to his level.

He grinned wide when Eren gave her name, giving a dramatic bow to her and smiling up at the Typhoomerang, "pleased to meet you, Rosaline!" He looked over at the other boy, genuinely surprised to be called sir, that was an entirely new feeling...And not an entirely bad one either, "u-uh...Yeah! Well, you're clearly a skilled rider, so of course I'd want you on my team, it's not an easy flight to make...And those..." He gestured to Rosaline with an impressed smile, "aren't easy dragons to befriend enough to ride. I can see potential when it's right in front of me." Granted he would still have to see how they operated in battle, it would be fun, and he was eager for it.

Fang blinked as he glanced to the side when Rosaline addressed him, nodding and looking down at his human, "Yep! He's small but he's got a lot to offer...Truth be told, he isn't the leader of the Riders, but he is what he says he is, so your rider is in good hands with Gustav." Or maybe he was biased, but he saw how much of a hard worker the boy was, he turned his eyes curiously on her, "you both flew a long way, how did you meet Eren?"

Eren beamed at the praise, turning slightly to pet Rose's neck as they kept walking, "Thank you sir. The flight was rather... interesting." He waved it off and put his hands behind his hea,d stretching, "She can't pull out of a dive too well, but aside from that she's fast." 

Rosealine nodded and turned to answer Fang, "I'm young, and I was younger when he found me. My parents were moving my nest and siblings in a storm, not the brightest idea, but our dem was flooding. That night was a blur. I remember waking up in Erens arms, hardly a month old." She gave a content sigh at the memory of the warm fire and the small boy's loving hug, "Eren isn't all that smart, but he's a good kid. I think he'll fit in well."

Gustav gave an interested tilt when he mentioned the journey being interesting, he wanted to ask, but figured maybe he would be more willing to share more details when they were both fed and a bit more rested. He chuckled and nodded, looking up at the striking dragon, "I could help with that, the diving thing, I mean." He glanced over at Fanghook with a grin, "he's gotten pretty good at making sharp turns and sudden movements, so maybe we can fly together soon and I can help?" It was a useful thing to be able to do, especially in a fight.

He waved for him to follow as he led them to the main hall, chuckling softly, "it's a little disappointing to hear that the Defenders haven't been doing much..." He chuckled, "our chief's been hoping to strike up a partnership with them in retaliation to Viggo..." He shook his head, "you should definitely talk to Hiccup, he'll be interested to know what they're doing." Or not doing...By the sound of it.

Fanghook gave a soft croon of sympathy at her story, glancing down at her rider with a new appreciation for the boy, "he will, I can assure you of that." He seemed a perfect fit already for Gustav's team, "Gustav will find ways to make use of his strengths and work around his weaknesses, he's good at that!" He glanced up as Gustav pushed open the door, indicating with his head that Rose should go first. Gustav grinned and nudged his dragon, "you big 'ole gentleman! Trying to im--woof!" He stumbled a little as Fang slapped him lightly over the head with his tail, knocking his helmet askew, "fussy fussy." He clicked his tongue with a grin, following the three inside.

Eren scoffed at the mention of his tribe, shaking his head, "I've been trying to talk to them for years. They didnt even believe dragons should be ridden, that it makes us their owners, but then this year and a little before the riders show up and somehow it's suddenly okay to ride dragons now. To hel with them!" Rose nudged her rider, the boy glaring at the ground in understanding. She didn't want him worked up... right. It was hard to control himself sometimes. Rose walked inside first, ignoring the human's implication, though she smiled at the thought, and Eren went in after her, breathing out his frustration and quickly smiling again, 

"Alliances are always good, but they won't be much help on missions ... or anything, they're all still new to dragon companions. I was flying Rose in secret for a long time though." He pat her nose and looked to Gustav expectantly, "How long have you been flying Fanghook?"

Gustav nodded and gave a slightly regretful shake of his head, it really was disappointing, and something he'd have to pass on to Hiccup the next time he saw him, "I guess every tribe has the right to their own beliefs, even if it is a bit backwards and unhelpful." He gave a shrug, noticing the way the boy tensed up, right, so he seemed to have a temper. He'd have to be careful of that, "you're here now, that's what counts, the past? That's not important. What's important is the future and this moment right here." He nodded, as if completely and totally sure of his words. He knew the chief still might seek out an alliance, like the boy said, it never hurt to have more friends than enemies, but at least he'd know not to expect much in the way of help on the field.

When Eren asked about Fanghook, Gustav grinned, patting the Nightmare's head when he craned his neck close, "Since I was eleven...Maybe twelve? He was a wild dragon too, I found him hassling boars in the forest...I trained him in secret too!" He grinned, "Hiccup tried to get me to release him back into the wild, but Fang didn't want to go, so we just started to meet together behind his back." The Nightmare gave a warbled laughter, tapping his rider affectionately on the top of his head with his chin, "he's family, he always has been!" He chuckled and glanced over at Eren, "I guess we got that in common!"

Eren beamed at the words, smiling with a determined look, like he was ready to be lead into a battle he couldn't possibly loose. "Right!" He gave his dragon a pretend punch to her jaw, to which she batted him with her wing, smiling and rolling her eyes, "And the future smells like victory to me, right girl?" Rose crooned her agreement, she wasn't as excitable as her human, but she enjoyed his enthusiasm. "It's good to have stuff in common with you're dragon, right? I'm not all that smart but that sounds like common sense to have someone you can play with and-" He suddenly jumped his dragon, trying to wrestle her to the ground. Rose let out a surprised hiss and struggled under her rider with a warble, tumbling with him on the floor. They didn't seem to mind that they were inside, they were just enjoying one another. When Eren finally sat himself back on the bench Rose rested her head on his shoulder and let him pet her while his other hand fixed his hair, "Wrestle... haha Sorry," He scratched the back of his neck, "Can't help myself sometimes. She likes playing rough sometimes. Wonder how that'll go when she's older...?"
