He sat there underneath the autumn colored trees with Citrix, her feathered wings settled around his body. He had been lucky with this one, her temperament nice although stubborn at times. She was beautiful however, almost like a phoenix. She warbled at him, the meal laid out before the lake fit for two having been the thing she had been eyeing for a while.
He may have been thrilled to be considered a friend of Hiccups but he couldn't help but want more of him. It was maddening to have unrequited love but he was determined to try his best, to earn Hiccups heart for himself. So a casual date was the first thing that came to his mind, of course he didn't really give in infliction that is was a date in the letter he sent. It was described more as a playful get together for some food and fun, along with the fact that he had a surprise in store for Hiccup. The surprise in question was sheltering him with her wing, Citrix the stormcutter of fire.
The sun was just starting to dip down towards the horizon, the sky tinged with orange and yellow. He had simply been relaxing here as he waited, eyes trailing the skies as he pondered about how he would go about this. He wasn't someone who went out on a lot of dates, mostly because he was to busy with taking care of Pickle, horse competitions, chief duties and taking care of his dragons. It was nice to relax for a while, having full trust in his advisers and council. After all, it wasn't like they could burn the Isle down to the ground within a few hours.
He sighed, no more thinking about that, focus on the date. His eyes trailed the scene, it seemed like a good spot to have a meal in the daytime that would slowly fade to night. A lake glittered in the tree clearing, soft green grass surrounding it with autumn colored trees ringing around the landscape. The orange sky complimented the scene nicely, the soft light from the sky relaxing him. The meal he picked was simple sandwiches and wine with parcels of candy to enjoy afterwards. So far things were going smoothly, he just had to wait for Hiccup to show.
