Hiccup Haddock The Chief Has Returned... He hadn't been home terribly long, and as such it felt like he had a dozen or more things that needed to be done, but he'd settled back into the role of chief as easily as could be expected. He'd never entirely fit the role, but he did his best, and people at least seemed to be glad to have him back, he couldn't say he was at his best yet, but he was getting there. Being able to see straight would have been a plus, but as of right now, he was learning to adapt to the limited vision fairly well, he'd even managed to rebuild Toothless' saddle, which had required some pre-planning given the prosthetic covered the entire tail now, rather than just half, they were still getting the hang of flying this way, but it was going well. That wasn't entirely what was on his mind though, he was more interested in the newcomer that he'd been hearing about, he couldn't remember a name, but they'd been here for most of the duration of his being gone. He wasn't sure exactly what he looked like, but he figured it wouldn't be terribly difficult to find a new face among faces that he knew like the back of his hand. Toothless trailed behind his rider as he picked his way through the village, in no real hurry, but still fairly curious about this newcomer. "Hiccup" - "Toothless"

[Alviss]

Alviss had been staying in Berk for quite a while now and had gotten used to the dragons at this point. Thanks to Valka he was able to get a lot of research done much faster thanks to that dragon book they had here in Berk. Alviss was out and about as he was still packing his supplies to his boat near the docks but then he saw it, the rare nightfury taking a walk next to someone he hadn't met yet. Was this the chief? Possibly but Alviss had to make sure as he would walk toward them. Upon further inspection the nightfury seemed to be missing its tail but it was replaced with a rather haphazardly built replacement which seemed to be built by the man in front of it. 
"Are you the chieftain then? If so Valka had spoken a lot about you." Alviss said as he gazed toward the nightfury curiously. "My name is Alviss, I came here to research the dragons." Alviss said as he then looked back to the man who seemed distraught. "I heard from her that you like to invent things just as much as my tribe does." Alviss had said as he took another quick look at the nightfury. 
"It is surprising really to see a nightfury here, after all they are classified as an endangered species at least according to my tribe." Alviss had said as he looked back over to the dragon.

Hiccup Haddock The Chief Has Returned... He tried not to be put a little on edge by the way he kept eyeing Toothless, who's only response was a curious grumble as he stretched his head forwards to sniff at his clothes, which were a bit less rowdy than what he normally saw on the humans around Berk, "Yeah, uh...That's me?" He supposed this was the newcomer he'd heard mumblings about, he gave a friendly nod in return when he gave his name, "Alviss, nice to meet you, since you've been talking to mom, I imagine you know my name already..." He laughed, shaking his head a little, "yeah, I guess you could say that...Your tribe sounds interesting, where's your village?" He figured out quickly why he kept stealing glances at Toothless, and nodded, leaning a little against the Night Fury's head and patting him gently, "Yeah, I've certainly never seen another of his kind anywhere..." He smiled down at the dragon with a warm chuckle, "he's been my best friend for a while, we've been through Hell together..." He cleared his throat and tilted his head, "so tell me more about your tribe, your village, you've piqued my interest for sure." He gestured with a hand for Alviss to speak. "Hiccup" - "Toothless"

[Alviss]

Alviss smiled as he was confirmed that this was Valka's son which surprised him really when the man said his mother already told him his name which she had not done yet but it would be helpful if she had to make his search easier. "No actually she did not tell me your name at all and I had to find out on my own when I asked about the chief to the others." When asked about his village Alviss chuckled a bit almost to the point of laughter but he held that in. "When I discussed this with your mother I had a look at a map you had made to show where it was located but found a rather humorous name in front of it. Does Itchy Armpit sound familiar to you then?" Alviss chuckled some more after saying the name again out loud. After being asked about his tribe Alviss stopped chuckling and spoke again. "The Prospectors live in Cherrywood village which resides deep within the forest of that area I spoke of earlier. Your mother said you would love to visit one day as our tribe is mainly about research on different creatures and inventing different types of things from that research on them. In a way we are a lot like you Hiccup." 
Alviss said glancing at Toothless' tail with both of the fins gone and now replaced. "Well good to see that you take very good care of him. I'm sure he's very happy to have someone to take care of him like you did with his tail there." Alviss said as he pointed to Toothless' tail then smiled.

Hiccup Haddock The Chief Has Returned... He laughed and rolled an eye when he mentioned that Valka had not, in fact, mentioned his name. It didn't surprise him in the least, it was just the kind of thing his mother would end up leaving out in her stories, "well, at least someone thought to tell you, Mom can be a little...Hmm...Eager." He laughed, even more so when Alviss mentioned his naming of the place, pointing to Toothless who gave an indignated huff, "not the best name, but technically it was his idea! I'm not wholly familiar with that area though, I've only ever poked around a small portion of it." His humor turned to interest as Alviss went into further detail about his tribe and the things they did, exchanging a glance with Toothless before resting his gaze back on their guest, "no kidding, when you say different creatures...You mean like...Aside from dragons?" He whistled, looking impressed now, "it sounds like this is a place that I certainly need to visit..." He glanced to the side at Toothless and chuckled, his eye softening a bit, "I've tried, he's family, and he takes care of me just as much...Odin only knows how many times he's saved my skin, the least I can do is protect him in return." He shrugged and gave a light chuckle, shaking his head a bit, "can't believe there's been a village there the entire time, you must be very well hidden..." Though, as he recalled, he hadn't been terribly deep into that territory to see everything it had to offer. "Hiccup" - "Toothless"

[Alviss]

Alviss nodded when he heard that Hiccup's mother Valka was a little eager which Alviss had to agree since she did want an alliance with the Prospectors last they had talked. "Yes she seemed very eager for an alliance when I told her about the Prospectors." Alviss chuckled a bit after hearing that the nightfury came up with the name. "So he based the name of an entire area just because of some dry skin? Seems a little silly to me." Alviss took his notebook out of his pocket where it had several entries with hand drawn pictures of different creatures on them. "Here this is what I have so far on some of the creatures we have penned up in our village." Alviss pointed to one that looked like a giant furry creature with tusks. "That is what we call a Mammoth. It is a creature that mostly eats plants so like some dragons they are herbivores." Alviss then pointed to another creature on the next page showing a fearsome striped cat like creature with large fangs. "That is a Sabrecat which are all carnivores meaning they eat meat and hunt other smaller creatures to eat." Alviss handed the notebook to Hiccup to borrow. "You can borrow this for a while it's the least I can do for Valka letting me see that dragon book. It has many of my notes on the creatures around the world of course it's nowhere near complete as their are very many different kinds of creatures out there." Alviss said as he got out his map of the area named the Tall Tree Mountains in the center was his village right in the heart of the forest. "Well you did say you haven't explored the area much but yes it is a little hidden from outside the forest because of plentiful amount of tall trees around the area." Alviss looked back at Toothless and smiled as when Hiccup was saved a few times by him. "Well you two must have had your share of adventures then." Alviss said as he chuckled again at the thought of the name Toothless gave.
