Henretta was unable to sleep, as she had flown back with her Dragon during an ice storm and now the poor thing had a cold, and Gobber was watching Gummy and said she couldn't sleep with him while he was ill, so Henretta decided to sleep with option number two. She was currently in the process of climbing into a certain someone's house, figuring the window with a light coming from it would but Hiccup's room. Only he would leave it on, unless he was up.
With ease she hauled herself up, falling into the room with a yip and then a thud. She had fallen on her side, though she quickly stood and dusted herself off, smiling to Hiccup and sitting beside Toothless, "You're up late." She said as she made herself as home, laying against the nightfury and petting his back gently, "Hey big buddy~ How do cuddles sound?" template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"] It was no secret to anyone in the village that their chief and sleep were not good friends, he used to not have so much trouble, back when he was a child and things didn't weigh on him heavy enough to drag down a man three times his age, but now between the stress and the nightmares which came more frequently it seemed, his window was usually illuminated well into the dawn hours, before he'd blow the candle out and write by the sun's light instead. Aside from nights where he was admonished by his mother, or Astrid, to sleep, he was thankful to Eirhel for showing him how she brewed her dragon nip tea, it was the only thing that seemed to bring sleep anymore.
He glanced over from his papers when he noticed Toothless jerking his head up in surprise, pupils constrictive as green eyes zeroed in on his window, "what is it, Bud?" The dragon made a concerned sound, until the breeze softly blew in from outside, a familiar scent tickling his nose as he crooned and curled back up, clearly unconcerned now. Hiccup rose a brow with a chuckle, shaking his head a little as he went back to his drawing, "jumping at birds again, Toothless?" He was about to tease more when he heard a loud thud against his floor, the sound startling him so badly that he lost balance in his chair and went tumbling backwards to the ground with a yelp.
"Wh-Henry?!" He could feel his heart hammering so hard in his chest that it almost made him dizzy as he looked at her with wide eyes, "I-I have a front door!?" He tried to collect himself as he picked himself off the ground, dusting himself off as well and letting out a trembling breath, "you're going to give me a heart attack one day, Henry!" His words were spoken with a distinct laughter in them this time, dusting himself off before righting his chair.
Toothless let out an eager crooning noise when she asked him if he wanted cuddles, pushing his head under her hand and giving it a lick, Hiccup chuckled, "I'm always up late. I don't sleep well." He shrugged as he went to sit back at the table, resting his cheek in his hand and sighing, "too many bees always buzzing in my brain to sleep...Though it feels more like angry hornets lately..." He glanced at her with a softer smile, "how's Gummy? I know he was sick with a cold."

Henry couldn't help but laugh as Hiccup fell back in his chair, laying back against Toothless as she continued to pet him absentmindedly. "If I went through the front door then I wouldn't know which room was yours or your mothers, and I don't want to wake her up by mistake, silly." She said with a laugh, tilting her head at the boy, "I'll take the front door next time... probably."
She kissed the dragons nose after he licked her hand, nuzzling her cheek against his, "Such a good boy~ who's a handsome boy~?" She asked softly, still listening to Hiccup as he made a comment about his recent thoughts, snapping her attention to him, though she didn't stay anything. Her chief was worried and things were on his mind... she'd have to dig deeper some other time. The question about Gummy made the woman frown, and she sighed longingly, "Gobber said he'll be fine in a few days, but I can't be near him too much... It's hard on a woman to not have her dragon around. Gummy's always been there." She went back to petting the Nightfury, pursing her lips with a smile down at the ebony dragon, "You'll protect me for a few nights won't you?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]He chuckled and nodded a little defeated, seeing the point in her reasoning, he couldn't blame her really, his mother could be a...Well a dragon when she was woken up like that, "I wouldn't have wanted you to suffer the wrath of waking my mom up in the middle of the night anyway." He smirked, waving it off as no big deal, he did hope the sound of them banging around up here falling all over the place didn't wake her anyway, probably not, but he kept an ear out anyway.
Toothless gave an appreciative rumble in response to her praise, pushing his face against her's when she nuzzled into his cheek before shifting so his head was in her lap, tail curled around her, the sight caused Hiccup to grin as he got up from his seat and came to sit beside the pair, nudging the dragon with his elbow, "replacing me, already?" There was clear jest in his voice, and he turned his eyes on Henry when she explained the situation with her own dragon, tsking softly, "I imagine, I couldn't even begin to wonder what I'd do without Toothless..." He laughed, laying against the dragon's side and closing his eyes, "crash and burn probably." His words were only half humored, Toothless rumbled softly and bumped her hand with his nose to give his answer, flicking his tail to curl around them both now.

Henretta smiled brighter as Hiccup joined them, both humans snuggled against the dragon. She continued to pet the nightfury's head. After the crash and burn comment she scoffed, "My bones would be off some cliff if Gummy wasn't so persistent about saving me." She plopped her head on Hiccup's shoulder, sighing contently as she looked down at the dragon's head in her lap.
"How did you meet Toothless anyway? I heard about it from Gobber but he likes to make stories interesting rather than true." She asked curiously. Hiccup was a strange boy, even to Henry, but that's why she liked him. She knew in the story he shot Toothless down, but why? How? And why did he think to fix the dragon rather than finish the job?
She glanced to the dragon's tail with a curious look, reaching out and touching where the missing fin was. It was amazing that someone could build prosthetics for a dragon that worked so well for such a horrible wound. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]He laughed at this, resting his head back against Toothless' side at that and shaking his head, "I can't said it'd be any different, eh Bud?" The dragon gave a good humored growl, and flicked him across the face with his tail, Hiccup swatted at it a little, then glanced over when Henry's head flopped against his shoulder, smiling a little as he sighed, feeling a bit more content now that he was cozied down with his friend and his dragon.
"Well..." He sighed, running a hand through his hair, "people didn't look at me then the way they do now...They didn't see me the way they do now. They didn't see me at all." He closed his eyes, letting out a thoughtful hum, "I was my father's burden to bear, or that's how he made me feel...That's how everyone made me feel, Gobber was probably the only one who actively cared that I existed...I was lonely...And I was desperate." He ran his hand thoughtfully over the dragon's tail, frowning, "I thought that...If I could just...Prove that I could be like them, maybe everyone would stop hating me." He laughed a little, glancing to the side at her, "but I could never do what they did, I never wanted to do what they did...I just wanted to be less alone." He reached a hand to run it over the Night Fury's smooth scales, "I shot him down but...I couldn't finish him...I wouldn't kill him, he was scared and lonely, like me."
He looked down, unable to help the guilty expression that crossed his face every time he thought back to this, "I was young, stupid, selfish...I hadn't thought of what it would do to him, so when I saw the damage I caused, I was determined to fix it." He reached to run a hand over the dragon's head, his face softening as he looked over the dozing reptile, "I love him, Toothless is my brother, I can't take back the things I've done...All the mistakes I've made...But if I can do good by him and everyone else now...That's all I can ask for." He let out a sigh, glancing to the side at her, "what about you and Gummy?"

Henretta listened intently, feeling awuful at the thought of what Hiccup had to go through. She didn't have many words to offer, she never did, but she wished she could knock him over the head and have him feel better. "You're brave for putting up with everything for as long as you did, and for standing by what you believe in. Vikings here are stubborn and like tradition. Hard to believe one kid and a dragon could change all that." She nudged him playfully, though her eyes widened as he asked in return about she came to be with Gummy. Stoick was probably the only person on Berk who knew her story, since it had been him that said she could stay on the island after she was found, and that was if he even remembered her after five years. She remembered the day clear though, not having thought about it in a while she furrowed her brows. She opened her mouth to speak but shut it again, taking a moment to string the words together. She didn't have a problem with the story, not from what she knew.
"I was five, my tribe lived on the sea going from island to island, they came here and I found little Gummy in the forest, after a month my tribe left... but I wouldn't have been allowed to take him with me. So I snuck off the ships and lived in the forests for about six years." She said everything with a smile, seemingly I phased by the fact she had left her whole tribe for a dragon, and that they never came looking for her. Her smile waned, becoming more forced as she thought about it, and she slowly sat upright and took off her goggles, running her fingers over the glass with a sigh, resting her head back against the dragon.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]He chuckled and shook his head, leaning back with his arms behind his head as he shrugged, "I'm not brave, I'm just ten times more stubborn and bullheaded than any viking you'll ever meet." He looked over at her with a softer expression when she began to speak, he could tell through her voice that the story was harder to get out than he felt she was letting on, but he didn't prod farther, he only listened and let her say her piece, only speaking when she was finished, "my father was the one who let you stay, right? So Gummy helped you survive out there?" He frowned and nudged her a little, "I'm sorry they never came back for you..." He couldn't wager towards the reasons, as he knew nothing of the tribe she came from or what they were like, but he could offer something, even if it was just a small comfort.
"But hey, whatever their reasons, that doesn't matter, okay?" He sat up a little, putting a hand on her cheek and giving her a warm smile, "you're part of our tribe now, Henry, you're part of my family now." He grinned, leaning back against Toothless' side, "crazy runs in my family, and you're about as mad as I am, so you fit right in." He looked over at her with a thoughtful expression, giving another gentle nudge, "and you don't have to smile if you don't want to, not around me." He gave her a half smile, "I'm your friend, and I'll be your friend whether you're up or down." He knew it was hypocritical advice that he never really took himself, but it was something he wanted her to know anyway.

Henretta reached up and pulled the ties out of her hair, putting them on her wrist and letting the long wavy locks flow, huffing and looking up at Hiccup, lips pursed. "That right there is what makes you a good alpha." She glanced up at Hiccup, wrapping the goggles around her hand the same way she had her hair ties, "This village is lucky to have you. Even though we all know you have your own problems you still put on a smile for everyone else." She ruffled his hair playfully, giggling slightly, "Can't say I hide things behind a smile a lot, I'm just a happy carefree person, but even I have my moments~"
She rubbed her eyes with a sharp sigh, tucking her hair behind her ears, "I'm glad I stayed though, don't think I regret it one bit. I love Gummy with all my heart and I love Berk. I'd do it all again in the end." template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]He was a little surprised when she pulled her hair down, not entirely expecting the gesture. From everything he knew of Henry thus far, he'd never actually seen her like this, and it put him at ease to know that she felt that at ease with him. He chuckled, shaking his head and leaning back against Toothless' side, closing his eyes, "I just want to be the person that my people can turn to, no matter what I'm feeling, I have to be solid for them." He smirked when she ruffled his hair, cracking an eye open at her, "everyone has their moments sometimes, it'd be ludicrous to expect anyone to smile constantly." He shrugged a little, slipping an arm around her shoulder, "but I'm here when you can't seem to want to smile, okay?" He yawned now, the warmth of the other person and the dragon behind them starting to get to him.
He grinned at her words, not opening his eyes as he let out a content sigh through his nose, "I'm glad you stayed too, if you hadn't we wouldn't have met, right?" He smirked, "you add just the right amount of crazy into my day...Well...Crazier..." He let out a soft laugh, and another yawn.

Henry genuinely didn't care about anything, since she only ever did what she wanted and didn't really have people that worried about her, or that she worried about, ... it was still odd, a nice kind of odd, knowing that if she somehow got herself in a hole that someone like Hiccup seemed to be willing to pull her out. "I can see why you touch the heart of dragons so easily." She said with a small laugh, leaning back against Toothless as well, head still leaned on the brunett boy's shoulder as she closed her eyes, hands laid on her stomach comfortably.
"Everyone needs someone to bring out their crazy side, or to take in the crazy for them. You can always count on me for that~" She felt herself being tugged at by sleeps bells, breathing slowing as a final small giggle left her. She hadn't ever slept near another human before. It was odd, especially since the bonding process wasn't the same... but it still felt nice to have a real person there. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0
