My name's Hiccup... The Pride of Berk ...Great name, I know. It had been...Admittedly far too long since he'd actually been back to the outpost, these things always seemed to take a backseat in his mind when he had an itch to scratch, an itch that could take him who knows where. The sky was the limit for the young man and his companion when he got like this, and if it wasn't for Toothless reminding him sometimes that they both needed to sleep and eat, he would probably keep going until...Well not until they dropped, Toothless would land eventually, and he'd complain before realizing that his eyes were far too droopy, his stomach far too empty. Single minded, that's what he'd been called before, goal oriented to a fault. It was good to be back though.
He loved this outpost, almost as much as he loved the people who helped to build it, it stood as the culmination of all of their efforts and all of their journeys, and even though there had been many times where they had to fight to protect it, but the mishaps and stumbled had only solidified the affection for this place, it was home.
He admonished himself quietly as he crossed the bridge that connected his hut to the main meeting hall, he wasn't sure if any of his friends would be around there, they came and went between here and Berk often enough, or took off on their own flights of fancy...He hoped he might catch them around, it felt like it had been way too long since he'd seen any of them, and he was keen to check up on everyone, or everyone he could find. --- Text || "Dialogue"

I Stood Here Once Before Dixelia Voella She had just flown in on her own dragon, Rurmera having not lit herself on fire this time thankfully. She had been new to the islands, having yet to fly to Berk or anywhere else. Her in fact not even knowing of any of those places. She had no saddle and rode bareback, the thought of even having a saddle not even having crossed her mind. Her dragon flew just over a man and his own dragon. It being dark in color, her eyes widened and she decided to land. Her dragon landed a bit harshly, her still being new to the whole 'riding dragons' business. She hopped down and stretched, feeling her back pop after a long flight. A swift pat was given to Rurmera, the dragon rumbling in appreciation. " Hi there, what's up?" She'd give him a smile, noticing his green eyes and brown colored hair. It was almost like a 180 to her own appearance. Dark hair cut in a reverse bob, mismatched eyes of acid green and amethyst. Her own dragon was light in coloration as if to match her rider. She leaned back on her dragons wing, interest shown plain on her features. The dude looked pretty cool, if anything a little worn down. She had no clue where she was exactly, and the thought that the guy might be hostile had gone straight over her head. She could handle anything anyways, why did she have to be afraid? Of course that was simply her thought process. She was human just like anybody else and could easily get hurt if she wasn't careful. Of course she didn't think like that, there was to much fun to be had anyway so why worry? It just didn't make any sense to her. So instead she simply focused on having fun while she could. | Action - "Speech" - 'Thought' | The Fires Burn At Midnight

My name's Hiccup... The Pride of Berk ...Great name, I know. It wasn't often that he saw riders come and go from this place that weren't any of his friends, seeing a completely new face was...Well it was new alright. He supposed that was the purpose of this Outpost, a way point, a place for travelers to rest between here and there, it's what made the location so crucial. He couldn't help a laugh, "afternoon, what IS up?" He looked between the rider and her dragon with a curious eye, "you're the first new face around here, well, ever!" He looked back when the Night Fury pushed past him to sniff at the newcomers, trilling out a greeting to the Nightmare, "well Toothless seems to like you, that's a good start." Neither of them seemed especially dangerous, so he was quick to relax, "welcome to Dragon's Edge, I'm Hiccup!" He tilted his head, "what direction did you come from? Must have been quite a flight!"
He chuckled and turned, waving for her to follow if she wanted, "wish the others were around to meet you too, but you can make yourself at home!" He was sure they'd show up in their own time, "what village did you come from?" His expression was curious as he plopped down in a chair at the large table in the center of the room, "all of us here came from Berk." He glanced to the side when Toothless came a took a seat beside him, realizing he hadn't asked a fairly important question, "what's your name?" --- Text || "Dialogue"

I Stood Here Once Before Dixelia Voella Rurmera decided to rumble back at the Nightfury, a seemingly happy expression placed on her dragons features. She leaned against the wing of her dragon, happily giggling at the mans sense of humor. He was pretty chill, a guy she'd like to hang with. He did ask a lot of questions though, a curious learner that made her head swim a bit. What question did he want her to answer first? She didn't really know which direction she had came from, she just kinda went for it. Finding out where to come from and where to go was not really her forte and keeping up with a map was dang near impossible. " Not very direction savvy, all I know is that I got caught up in a storm after heading froooommmm...." She paused, looking around her trying to figure out the direction she had just come from. She finally gave up and pointed south, figuring it was just as good as any other direction. She paused for a moment, letting him get some of his questions out before figuring out time to answer them all. " The names Dixelia and my dragons name is Rurmera, its nice to meet ya' Hiccup." She held out her hand to shake his, a smile on her face. Now to figure out exactly where she was and what was going on. First and foremost the dudes name was Hiccup, which was pretty rad in her opinion, not to forget it actually suited him quite well. He called his dragon Toothless so that answered another question. He then said that everybody here was from a place called Berk. She figured that was a bit of a ways off from where they were at, as for the village she had come from... Well crap, she couldn't really answer that since she lived on boats most of her life. She shifted her weight to one hip, her expression not changing. She wasn't ashamed of who she was or where she had lived, in fact it was pretty awesome. The main places she remembered were Rome and England, they were polar opposites most of the time but she liked traveling between them. " What village I came from is a difficult question, mostly because I didn't live in a single village. I'm from a place called Rome originally, but I've lived on sea boats most of my life. Parents were traders and our main passage ways were between Rome and England. We visited a place called France sometimes, but they were a little...stuck up." She grimaced, remembering the girls who wore those gaudy clothing and makeup. The smell of those cosmetics always made her nose crinkle and she surely did not want to go back anytime soon. She thought that answered most of his questions, wracking her brain to see if she forgot something. Eh, if she did he'd probably remind her. | Action - "Speech" - 'Thought' | The Fires Burn At Midnight

My name's Hiccup... The Pride of Berk ...Great name, I know. He realized pretty quick that he was talking too much, too fast, and laughed at his own slip up, running a hand through his hair, "sorry, I realize I'm kind of talking too much...I do that a lot." The Night Fury at his side gave a snort to affirm that statement, to which Hiccup responded with a stink eye back at him, "no one asked you." Toothless warbled out his own sort of sassy reply, then they both looked to the newcomers, "storms can get pretty rough around these parts, it's easy to lose your sense of direction when the wind is pushing you every which way." He couldn't count the number of times they'd ended up Odin knows where in the middle of a storm.
He gave her a bright grin as he took her hand in a firm shake, "Dixelia! Nice to meet you both!" He kept his attention on her as he collapsed into a chair situated close by, his eyes becoming interested when she mentioned the places she'd been, "Rome? England?" He chuckled, "I've never even heard of those places!" He tilted his head, leaning forwards in his seat with an excited expression, "they must be so far, what are these places like?" The thought of other places like that fascinated him, and were it not for the distance taking him from his duties for too long, he had half a mind to try to find them...Someday...Maybe someday.
For now, he had to focus on the present, "Berk's a hop skip and a jump from here, if you need a good stopping point to rest." He smiled, a little bit of pride in his eyes, "I'm the village chief, we're a tough bunch, but I couldn't imagine living anywhere else." It still felt weird to introduce himself like that, the title still felt foreign, like it belonged to someone else. But it was getting easier, he supposed it made sense given the shoes he was trying to fill. --- Text || "Dialogue"

I Stood Here Once Before Dixelia Voella She smiled as he plopped into a chair, she simply leaned against the door frame. She wasn't one to sit and be a lady, nah, that was to much effort. It was a lot easier just to stand and talk, no need to act like some kind of royal court lady when she could be just some normal chick. She grinned at his questioning, happy to talk about the places she had been to. He then went on to call himself a chief, she figured that was kinda like a King. They had a King and Queen in England, and Rome had an aristocracy, in the end they were all pretty much the same. A bunch of dudes with to much makeup and time on their hands. Royalty wasn't her favorite thing in the world, but she did have a soft spot for talking about political stances. She figured the Chief thing was more like a King, something decided by birth rather than a vote. It wasn't her say though, but she would talk about it since she wasn't exactly sure about it. She did like his description of Berk and how close it was, she figured she would go there sometime if she kept her direction right. Now to figure out how to describe the two places she loved. " They seem to be a crap ton different to this place and to each other. It's a few weeks of sailing between both of the countries, a lot of different ports along the way. Rome is hot and dry but the culture there is well made and developed. They live in an aristocracy and are known for lifes pleasantries. England on the other hand is a monarchy and is full of manufactured goods. They rely on coal and steam ships to transport their goods to the other countries, its cold and dreary most of the time and smoke coats the skies from the factories. Both of them have their ups and downs though, I do like Rome a bit better, especially its cousin Italy." She grinned, hoping her explanation was enough to give dude a good enough of a picture. She had no clue that he may not know half of what she just said, the technological advances of the industrial revolution not having hit these shores just yet. | Action - "Speech" - 'Thought' | The Fires Burn At Midnight

My name's Hiccup... The Pride of Berk ...Great name, I know. His eyes were curious as he studied the way she carried herself, he liked that she seemed so casual and relaxed, especially in a strange place, in the company of someone she'd only just met. He still could have easily been dangerous, pleasant or not, she was clearly fairly brave and very confident. He looked curious however when she began to go into detail about where she came from, his expression was equal parts amazed and confused as he regarded her, "I'm going to be really frank with you." He ran a hand through his hair and laughed, "I maybe understood half of what you just said..." These places sounded incredible, and he found the urge to see them growing.
"I'd like to visit these places someday..." He said this out loud, even though it was meant to be a thought, chuckling, "Berk isn't nearly as forwards, we're a fishing village." He leaned against the arm of the chair casually, "I'm less a ruler and more a protector...That's what my job is, to protect my village." He chuckled, "I listen to everyone's problems and get my hands dirty trying to fix them." He didn't know anything about monarchs and steam ships, those concepts seemed to go completely over his head as he tried to imagine what they might mean, "we don't have...Any of the things you're describing..." He chuckled, then looked over at her, "I don't suppose you would take me there, would you? Someday...I'd like to see it for myself." His curiosity and eagerness to learn were once again overwhelming him, giving him that itch that he got when he wanted to explore. --- Text || "Dialogue"
