Sean hadn't been on the island of Dragon's edge that long, a little over a week, and was slowly growing accustomed to all the people on the island. For the most part everyone was friendly, of course he was still shy when it came to meeting fellow riders. A few of the people he already knew, which made his time on the island a little easier. Bit by bit it was beginning to really feel like home. To add another piece to the puzzle Sean was finally getting back into one of his favorite pastimes, cooking. Though he preferred to cook desserts, Sean could cook pretty much anything. Spending your childhood with an elderly couple will do that to you, he cooked almost every meal for them as well as himself and their friends when occasion called.
Currently he was making something rather simple, apple pie. The only cooking spot he was aware of was the one in the central clubhouse where everyone ate. He knew the Heather girl was a good cook, and seemed to make most of the meals herself, but he didn't know if the kitchen was for public use or not. Figuring no one would mind if he made food and cleaned up well, he continued as planned by cutting apples and going through with his usual routine.
After a little while the pies were finished, he had made about six to share among the fellow riders. Proud with his work the blonde set them out to cool off, hoping no one would come in asking for a slice before they were ready. It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake~ template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

It felt exceptionally odd to be back at the Edge, having not been there for little over two years now but Heather had visited a few times since returning to Berk and was getting a feel for the place again. The Outpost area had been growing rapidly in her absence. It almost felt like a second village in its own right, as if Berk was finally expanding outside it's main island area. Heather couldn't help giving a large smile at the sight from Windshear's back, the Razorwhip lazily flying towards the island below but also enjoying the sight of Dragon's Edge progress.
But as they drew closer, Heather noticed Windshear beginning to slow, sniffing the air slightly with a raised head. "Smell something good Windshear?" Heather asked, leaning to the side in her saddle to peer at her dragon curiously who turned with an excited look in her green eye. Windshear could indeed smell something, something sweet and freshly baked. Heather knew her dragon companion's sense of smell was greater than her own so she gave a gentle pat to the dragon's neck, indicating she could follow her nose.
Holding onto the saddle, Windshear gave an excited noise before rushing towards the island, going into a steep dive towards the central hut. Seeing where the Razorwhip was heading, Heather couldn't help the curiosity beginning to grow and soon caught the smell of freshly baked pies. Someone else seemed to be into cooking there, having made meals there herself during her visits here and found herself wondering who else was making the amazing smelling food. 'One way to find out.' The young woman thought as Windshear came in for a land, almost stumbling in her desire to follow the source and Heather having to gently press a hand on her shoulder, "Hey now, take it easy Windshear. We'll find the source of the smell but we don't need to give someone a heart attack." Heather chuckled, dismounting from her dragon companion before making her way to the main hut, peeking into the building as Windshear snaked her head beside her rider to look as well.
Seeing no one at first, Heather stepped in with Windshear trying to follow but the brunette made a motion for her to stay, knowing Windshear's eagerness might get the better of her. Following the smell of the pies, the brunette Viking finally spotted the apple pies, before turning her gaze towards the kitchen, moving to the doorway. "Hello?" She spoke up, wondering if someone was still there. Tags: Sean Avrid , others if they join Notes: ---

The canary blonde boy had just begun cutting the pies when he heard the wood creak from something heavy outside. He could only assume it was a rider and their dragon, or multiple people. For his sake he hoped it was one person. Hearing a female voice he poked his head out from the kitchen, spotting a young woman with black hair. "Ah, hi?" He said and cleared his throat, stepping out and crossing his arms behind his back, "If you're here for the pie then uh, I'm cutting it right now. I'm Sean."
His introduction was rather awkward since he was... well, socially challenged. His dragon, Seashore stepped out behind him, his dragon not too interested in warm foods. He had eaten plenty of fresh apples prior anyway. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

When Sean poked his head out, Heather was a bit surprised but calmed herself when realizing it was just one of the newer residents of Dragon’s Edge since her appearance last time. “It’s nice to meet you Sean, I’m Heather.” She introduced herself with a soft smile in greeting, seeing the boy was a few younger than herself. In fact, he seemed rather shy to be talking to someone new and part of Heather hoped she didn’t come off as overly intimidating since she knew some got that vibe from the way she looked at times.
Before she could add anything else she couldn’t help looking at the monstrous Nightmare that peeked his head around next, having never seen one that was so different. She gave Seashore a greeting smile as well before she spoke, “My dragon Windshear caught the smell of your pies just somewhat off shore, sorry if we might have interrupted your cooking.” Heather apologized before giving a soft whistle, letting WIndshear know she could come in at last. “But they smell amazing! Sure it’s taking Windshear all she has not to swipe the pies for herself.” The black haired teen chuckled as Windshear nudged her elbow to show she was hear, Heather gently placing a hand on the Razorwhip’s nose.

The scrawny blonde shook his head, "Ah, no you didn't interrupt." He gave a small smile to the woman's dragon, disappearing back into the kitchen for a moment before coming back out with two slices of pie on plates. He put one on the ground for the dragon and offered the other to Heather, "It's nice to meet you... you're one of the origional riders right? Friends with Hiccup and the others?" He asked curiously, since he had heard the name Heather thrown around here and there, "I just joined this month. Getting Seashore and myself adjusted has been a challenge." He gave a nervous smile and rubbed the back of his neck. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

"Oh, that's good then. I'd hate to interrupt someone doing what they enjoy." Heather said with a sigh of relief, smiling back before watching as Sean disappeared in the back for a moment and returning once more with two plates. The black haired woman gave a soft chuckle as WIndshear made some excited growls and hurrs, obviously more than eager to have some fresh, warm pie. It had been sometime since the Razorwhip had been treated to something other than fish, chicken, or the like which Heather felt a bit guilty for as she took her own plate, patting Windshear's neck who saw it as a sign she could finally dig in. "Just don't make a big mess." Heather playfully scolded her dragon, getting a light swat on the head from Windshear's tail in response, but nothing that would harm Heather herself.
Turning her gaze back to Sean, she gave a slight nod at his question. "Sorta. I was more of a later addition, you could say actually settling in was rather...complicated." Heather said, averting her gaze as she took a bite of the pie and her dark thoughts seeming to vanish. "By Thor's hammer, this is amazing! " Heather spoke, loving the flavor of the apple filling, knowing her baking skills weren't quite all up to snuff to this. "Maybe you could be the Edge's official baker." Heather said with a grin, seeming to be glad to find a way to entirely avoid explaining why settling in had been complicated. "But I'm glad you two are settling in. Know it can't be the easiest thing being in some place new." She added, her smile friendly.

Sean smiled at the razorwhip, not daring to pet it in fear of accidentally upsetting her, Razorwhips could have ill temperaments from what he knew. He stifled a smile at the interaction between the two, also happy that his cooking pleased the metal dragon. When Heather spoke she seemed reluctant, as if she had a long and complicated story to tell. Thankfully he hadn't seemed to upset her too bad, since she eagerly complimented his cooking. He blushed faintly at the praise, swaying back on his heels. "Thanks, I'm glad you like it." He wasn't one to push out people's life stories, not after knowing them for only a few minuets.

Heather watched the Razorwhip from the corner of her eyes for a moment, seeing Windshear gulp down the pie slice in no time. It brought a faint smile to her face seeing that at least someone was enjoying themselves. "I hope you can truly call this place home Sean, it certainly has an impact on people." Heather agreed, turning her gaze back towards the blond haired youth, her smile remaining as she ate a few bites of her pie knowing if she didn't then Windshear would swoop in and finish it instead.
"Have you been on Dragon's Edge for very long?" Heather inquired curiously, wondering how new the young man was. She had been hearing from Hiccup and others that new riders were moving onto the edge, starting fill the place out compared to the five original riders who had lived here. Tags: Sean Avrid

"I've been here a little over a week... I came with a friend who suggested we join up here. Be a part of something bigger than ourselves." Sean glanced behind him at Seashore, "All we had to do was pick a dragon and the rest kindness of just happened... well... Seashore picked me actually." The monstrous nightmare made a scoff like snort, though smiled as his rider pet his head, a low cooing sound leaving the small dragon's stomach.
"I finished up my hut just yesterday... and also accidentally dumped a bucket of blue paint on Hiccup's head. Guess I'm not the best when it comes to first introductions of my idols." He admitted with a nervous laugh. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

"Not very long then." Heather said with a nod, but smiled as she looked towards Seashore. "Well, it looks like you two will make quite a team already. Know it can be a rough start for some when they first get a dragon. Isn't that right Windshear?" Heather looked at the Razorwhip as she lifted her head, giving a soft snort in response and flicking her tail, obviously recalling their meeting hadn't exactly been the best first meeting. But, through tenacity and patience Heather had earned her trust after saving the Razorwhip and their bond had just grown since then.
But Heather actually laughed a little at hearing about the paint incident, imagining her friend's hair being blue for a whole month due to difficulty of getting paint out. "I wouldn't worry Sean. Hiccup is a pretty patient guy, I'm sure he's not mad. In fact, he would more likely laugh at the situation than be angered by it." The black haired woman assured him, giving another grin in response. "Heck, that would be quite a prank to play if you ask me." She mused. Tags: Sean Avrid

| SEAN AVRID "I'm not helpless... Unless you say so." Sean smiled at the woman happily, completely relaxed now that he knew she wasn't a threat, most people weren't nesesarily a threat. but he didn't like their personalities. "It's been fun getting to be with a dragon so... different from me I guess you could say. Seashore is very head strong." The skyblue dragon huffed out of his nose, smoke making Sean's hair lift from the breath of the dragon. He smiled and pet the blue beast's nose. "Only playing boy."
"He laughed right then really... It was still embarassing. How many people drop buckets of paint on their idol's head?" |

"You could say me and Windshear are two sides of the same coin. We're pretty much alike in almost everyway, except for species." Heather chuckled, knowing sometime dragons and riders could be very much the same or they could be very different in terms of personality. It was odd really, but sometimes things like that happened. But as they talked, Heather finished her own piece of pie before setting the plate and fork aside with Windshear nearly shoving her aside for the off chance there was a piece left. A huff of disappointment though was enough to make Heather chuckle and gently pat her neck affectionately.
Heather though smiled, "Not very many people." She agreed. "Think of it this way though. You could have panicked or fainted on sight, which is a lot more embarrassing than dropping a bucket of paint I'd think." Honestly, Heather could think of maybe several much more embarrassing things that could have happened when it came to someone's idle, and perhaps that would ease Sean's mind. "My bro...friend, is normally not too bad with such things." She assured him, correcting herself rather quickly. Tags: Sean Avrid

| SEAN AVRID "I'm not helpless... Unless you say so." Sean nodded in agreement as the woman spoke of worse things that could happen. "I made him laugh so I guess everything is all good... I wish I could give him a bit of apology pie." He said with a small laugh, rubbing his neck more out of habit, "I've heard a good bit about you too though," He beamed, not seeming to catch her little slip up, "Like you're double sided axe! How you were a spy against Viggo an a bunch of other epic stuff!" He cleared his throat, "Sorry, I don't mean to overwhealm you, I just get excited here I m surrounded by amazing people, and I get to be a part of this bigger picture you and the other riders pieced together." |

"Maybe one of these days we can do an apology feast, most Vikings love that." Heather suggested, "I wouldn't mind helping and well, Hiccup could use some beefing up." Heather gave Sean a playful wink just to show she was kidding, as despite Hiccup's size he was fairly strong. But she did mean every word before the teasing, more than willing to help a fellow rider and make a new friend while she was on Berk. Whether she would stay entirely though had been thrown up in the air.
She was surprised though that Sean knew so much, wondering if he was always listened to those stories with intent. "Some trying times, that's for sure." Heather said, smiling a little. "I think I'm the one who should be thrilled you are able to be a part of this Sean. We simply paved the way, and its newer riders like yourself that'll make Berk and the Dragon Riders proud." Heather couldn't help showing her excitement at the coming future. But a grin formed as she came over beside Windshear, unstrapping her famous self-made double axe, which was currently folded up. "Take a look if you want. I have been wondering if I should make some similar weapons for others to try." Heather held the weapon out to Sean, letting him take a look if he wished. Tags: Sean Avrid

| SEAN AVRID "I'm not helpless... Unless you say so." Sean leaned against his dragon as Seashore sat upright next to him, the blue beat not seeming to mind, nodding as she spoke of a feast. "I'm glad people like you come around... Never thought I'd be sorrounded by so many friendly faces." His eyes widened at her axe, his smile beaming as he gently took it from her hands, looking it over curiously. "This thing looks awesome! I'm more of a sword person- but this thing could really do some damage." He tilted his head at it, and slowly handed it back to her.
"I hope I can live up to the expectation." |
