Kristen is a spry young girl who was beaten up at a young age. She comes from a far off village, where the people live within caves, leaving her skin a very fair shade, and her hair the darkest ebony color. Her eyes are a striking shade of sapphire blue, one that is neither too deep nor too light, but a fair in-between, sparking with chips of different shades of the same color. She only has one scar, other than the rough scars criscrossing her hands from countless hours as her village's dragon trainer, and it is a deep, scarlet colored jagged slash crossing from right below the lower lid of her right eye, to her jawline at the left, across the bridge of her nose. She's about 5 feet and 8 inches in height, and weighs a deceiving 165 pounds, whereas her body type doesn't show the weight at all. She cloths herself in leather and cloth mostly, usually seen in a shortish black cloth skirt covered by straps of leather and pale fur from her village, with a lighter colored beige shirt, crossed once with a strap of leather strips braided with a single strip of the same fur found on her skirt. She wears wraps for shoes, finding that simply binding her feet in leather and cloth strips leaves her more agile and nimble, able to quickly move if need be. Kristen finds it difficult to use heavy weapons, so she's armed herself with two curved short swords brought with her by ship from her home village. She keeps these blades holstered, one on each side, for easy access, and is quite deadly with the tools, even when mounted on a dragon. (Will add more as I think of it) THIS IS WHERE HER DRAGON'S INFO WILL GO WHEN SHE TRAINS AND KEEPS ONE FOR HERSELF. SO FAR, SHE HASN'T FOUND ONE SHE HAS BONDED WELL ENOUGH YET TO CALL 'HER' DRAGON, AFTER THE DEATH OF HER FIRST DRAGON.

Kristen is quite stubborn and sarcastic. Her sarcasm sometimes keeps her from getting along with other riders. She is thin, and looks quite meek, but she is, in fact, quite snarky. She's sure of herself and her capabilities, and can think quite well on her toes. She's quite easy-going when you first meet her, but she tends to assert herself too much in activities she enjoys. She thinks she's one of the best at dragon training, simply because in her old village, it was her job to train and wean dragons the hunters caught and brought down into the village of tunnels. Since she was the heir to the chief's position, she has a few issues following orders from others. She's more used to dishing out the orders, and she will refuse to do anything she doesn't find 100% moral, or she doesn't agree with. Sometimes this causes issues, other times this gets her in a bind. However, even though she has a lot of rough patches, and tends to be very headstrong, sarcastic, and smart-mouthed, she is also protective of her friends and family, even those that cast her out. She enjoys the company of others, and is a gentle, kind soul. She hates bullying, and won't tolerate it out of anyone, often beating up those who are doing something to anyone--even those she doesn't know. She hates lazy people, and can't tolerate anyone who won't pull their load. She enjoys all dragons, and has a knack with them, often staying and getting hurt before she'll give up on calming a wired up dragon. She refuses to stand by and let anyone hurt any dragon, and this often gets her into fights. Ultimately, this is why she was kicked from her home village. Kristen hates confrontation, as it often makes enemies, or love interests. Neither of which she's used to dealing with. If approached in the latter way, she seems to lose all brain function and becomes the stereotypical shy girl--a sputtering, blushing mess. If you confront her in a hostile manner, she'll lash you so hard with her tongue you'll wish she used those deadly twin blades she has holstered at her sides.

Kristen grew up in her old Village, the Vinta Village. She was born without sunlight on her skin, which why she is so pale. She was the first born to the chief and chieftess of the village, hence making her the heir to her parent's spot when she was old enough to allow them to retire. At age 12, she tamed her first dragon, a deep teal monstrous nightmare that had wandered down one of the entrances to the village when guard shifts were changing. Taming the beast gave Kristen the name of Dragon Tamer within the walls of the caves, and gave her a job. She began taming dragons and teaching the villagers to ride their new friends, and she loved her job very much, especially when her friends fell in love with their new companions. At the age of 14, she was trying to tame an ash-grey Deadly Nadder. The dragon had been untamable by her fellow tamers, all whom she had trained, and was given to Kristen as a last resort. When the girl approached the beast, however, the nadder lashed out, quick as lightning. It was all Kristen could do to avoid a deadly cut, and she ended up taking a spike across her face, marring it and leaving behind the jagged scar she has today. It was then she discovered what her father was doing with all the dragons who Kristen and her staff couldn't train. She had been wondering why so many of her fellow villagers had still been wearing dragon leather and scales, once she had started training them instead of hunting them, and she found out that evening. She followed the nadder out of the large cave used to train the beasts, and was separated from the dragon at a bend, the ash colored scales leaving her sight. She knew what that cave went to. It went to the choppers, where old dragons went to be humanely put to rest. Or so she thought. Kristen ended up sneaking back there after she healed, and, even with her right eye bandaged and covered, she watched in horror as dragons were lined up and murdered, the chief finding no use for beasts he couldn't have tamed. Kristen protested immediately, going to her father and throwing a massive fit. She was stubborn, just like her parents, and she hardly gave in, especially when she didn't feel what was happening was right. She wouldn't let the matter go, and they fought time and time again, for 4 years. Finally, when she turned 18, she went to her father to attempt to force him to retire, so she could take over and make this brutal habit cease altogether. Her father was furious. He killed the teal Nightmare that Kristen had taken as her own dragon the night she tamed it, murdering the male dragon right in front of his daughter's eyes. Then, he banished her, sending his broken daughter on a ship headed to nowhere. Dragonless and tired, Kristen landed on Berk, her mind still teeming with her dragon training abilities, and thoughts of revenge. Her father thought he broke her down, but he only made her strive to get much, much better. And so her story on Berk begins. (More will be added as she goes about her business on Berk.)
Other Relationships | |||||||||
➤ friends | |||||||||
Kristen's headstrong personality mixed with her sarcasm makes it a bit difficult for others to get along with her, but those who see past her flaws will have a loyal and protective companion for life.
| |||||||||
➤ enemies | |||||||||
Kristen's buttons are often hard to push, but she hates with a vicious passion when one does push those buttons. She has a tendency to hold grudges, and once you're on her bad side, you have some major sucking up to do to get off it.
| |||||||||
➤ romance | |||||||||
Kristen isn't the most romantic of the bunch. She's awkward, shy to touch, and has a biting tongue when she gets nervous. She'll lash out with sarcasm, and her snarky wits, all to keep someone at arms length. But, if you manage to pin this girl who is as wild as the dragons she trains, you'll have a loving, and loyal partner.
