| | Everything about the stretch of sea between here and Outcast Island was foreboding, there was just a point along the way where all the light and sound died, where all either could hear was the rolling ocean beneath them, black and threatening to arch above them and swallow them whole. He knew better, of course, they were too high above the waves for that to actually happen, but it didn't stop the wandering mind from drawing up such macabre thoughts, and he knew Toothless felt the same, "it'll be fine, Bud, we've come and gone from this place before without issue...And we could really use the extra muscle." The projects around Berk were going much slower than they could have been, and he didn't know if Alvin and his men would willingly help, but he was sure he could talk him over.
He brought them down lower when the island came into view, as black and threatening as it had ever been, there was always a little tickle of fear of this place, even with the truce between himself and Alvin, the memory of the things that happened here still too fresh to feel entirely at ease. He at least felt safe enough that he brought them down at the entrance, rather than coming in from somewhere less obvious.
There was a different feeling to this place as he passed under the intimidating arches, the Night Fury close to his side radiated the same concerned discomfort. Something felt inherently wrong about this place, it tickled at the back of his head and ran cold ice down his spine, "something's not right...Be alert..." He mumbled this to the dragon, who nodded his understanding. He kept his eyes on all sides of them as best he could, watching for any guards or patrols that might stop them as they entered through the main entrance of the island, trying hard to carry himself like a chief should...It was something he still hadn't entirely perfected, even harder with this uncomfortable sensation that he was walking into the lion's den.

Come Dance With The Devil Bow down and look to your leader, see me as I carve my brand into you and watch as I revel in your pain and fear She sat there upon her throne within the torchlight, the mount of Alvins head upon her wall hanging just above her own head. She flaunted what she had done, taking a life of someone who had gone far to soft to rule didn't even make her bat an eye. Those who were under her control knew better than to even question her orders and came to her only when necessary. She was not a woman to waste her time with petty things and if one did come to her with such trivial problems then she would gladly relieve them of their head. So when a stuttering soldier came to greet her the instant look of disdain came over her normally pleasant features. It wasn't until the words of Nightfury snuck out into the atmosphere did her normally sweet smile come upon her features. Her claws clicked upon the throne she rested in, lips curling upwards to reveal pink tinted teeth from her last meal. She stood, brushing off whatever specks of dirt could have found their way onto her person before waving her hand in a dismissed manor.
"Prepare a feast for the newcomer, serve dragon and human. Preferably that lovely young slave girl with the dark hair and copper colored eyes."
After a soft chorus of yes my lady her little drones carried off to do their duties. She preferred eating younger girls, the reasoning being behind the Soothsayers and their advice. The younger flesh would always be easier to eat as well as provide lasting beauty. So far she felt as though they were correct, her face was always flushed with healthy color, her skin always sun kissed, her hair as soft as silk and woven like gold, her eyes never lost their shine and her nails never broke. They were allowed to live, after all they did not want to anger the speakers of the gods. She began walking from Solitude, her feet carrying her swiftly to where the young man had been spotted. Upon her bodice was dark chainmail that came down in the form of a long tunic, a dark long sleeved undershirt was worn as well as a dark pair of pants and armor boots. A belt wrapped around her middle and bracers were worn upon her forearms. A long cloak billowed out behind her and a sword hung on her hip. Her hair was braided at the top and flowed freely upon her shoulders and back.
She didn't have to look very long before the dragon rider was spotted.
Her eyes widened with shock at the sight of a nightfury, the rumors finally proving themselves to be true. She smiled sweetly, her eyes cold with hints of calculating malice behind them. She walked forward, any guards within sight scurrying about to look as though they were completely absorbed within their work. She looked at them with cold gleaming eyes, deciding which ones would be picked off tonight. She then turned her sweeping gaze back to the pair, her smile returning as she studied them. Her hand wound its way to the hilt of her sword, back straightening despite the fact that she carried herself like a regal woman.
"It is a pleasure to finally meet you dragon rider, it is an honor to welcome you to the home of the Outcasts. I am known by many names, The Demon of Love, The Enchantress, The Torturer, The Chaos Bringer, I have been named a Queen and yet I have been branded a beast."
She had started circling the two, gazing upon them and reading them as if they were her next target to kill. Her voice held a mellow sweetness to it, like fine music mixed with an amazing wine. The mixture of her melodic voice and the words she spoke completely contradicting one an other.
"You however, may know me as Noxaura, high chieftess of Outcast Island. What might your titles be dragon rider?"
She smiled once more, her eyes flickering between the nightfury and its master. Her own dragon roared from its cell, the creature far larger and more powerful than any of the other dragons within the ring. She wanted to control it as the rider did its nightfury, that would come in due time however it was time to welcome her guest. She focused upon the rider, finding him very attractive to her tastes. Perhaps eventually he would make a good meal for her, he was certainly one of a kind and those mossy green eyes were sure to make for a lovely trophy. For now she needed to focus on getting this one to tell her his name.

| | The flurry of movement did not go unnoticed by the dragon or his rider, and they shared a silent look to one another, the air between them crackling with an intense sort of unnerve that put them both on edge. This place did feel different, it felt threatening and unwelcoming, sinking down over them like a heavy and oppressive weight, but he was determined not to let it get to him, at least not visibly. The Night Fury gave him a nudge with his head and he looked up, in time to see the figure approaching, striking and fairly intimidating, it was clear that she was in charge by the way she carried herself, and this thought sent his mind firing off in dozens of differing ways. Where was Alvin?
When she spoke, he snapped his eyes up to meet her face, taking in the various titles, whether self given or earned...He wasn't sure he wanted to know, "well, ah...Impressive titles." His tone was careful, trying his damnedest to bite back the sarcasm, at least for now, he needed to be cautious until he had a better grasp on just what sort of person he was talking to. When she circled them, he tried not to flinch, despite the prickling discomfort, Toothless however did not hold steady, following her with his head, his eyes curious and a little suspicious. He couldn't help but find her voice a stark contradiction to the subtly threatening words coming out, when she gave her real name, he gave a polite bow, but her words hit him.
"Well met, I'm Hiccup, chieftain of Berk..." He gestured to the Night Fury, "and this is Toothless, my uh...Second in command I guess you could say." He gave the dragon a fond smile, running a hand over his head before looking back over at her, "I wasn't aware the Outcasts were under new rule..." He said this with a tone what was more curious than it was negative, "what happened?" He was curious as he eyed her, though he almost felt like he knew what had happened, it wasn't like these things were uncommon in some places, it made him feel more than a little lucky that his own people were loyal to him...Otherwise...

Come Dance With The Devil Bow down and look to your leader, see me as I carve my brand into you and watch as I revel in your pain and fear She smiled as the other spoke, affirmation on the boys identity now solidified within her mind. This had been the one who had made Alvin go utterly soft and weak, she frowned as it was not time for the festivities to take place just yet. She ran a hand through her hair, watching the nightfury with interest before her eyes flickered over to the boy. His complement to her titles was amusing to someone like herself, having no need for compliments by someone of their caliber, after all they were not her obsession. She glanced over at the dragon once more, a creature second in command rather than a human being? That actually made sense, one could always kill their second in command if they ever turned. Dragons didn't have the capability of speech nor did they have the ability to backstab so it was a perfectly logical choice. One that could not betray their master for fear of death, a beautiful system that brought a sweet smile to her face.
"Impressive, I would have never thought on having a dragon as a second in command."
She brought her hand to her lips in thought as she listened to the others inquires. So it seemed as though not all were aware of the change in leadership, that fact made her frown. How had the beheading of the previous leader not gotten out as quickly as it should have? That would have to be fixed soon enough, she wanted nothing more than the world to know exactly who she was. She was about to respond when a maggot decided to come and try to speak with them. Stuttering mess of words that she could only vaguely understand as the fact that a changewing had escaped escaped the mans lips. She frowned, eyes flashing with malice and rage. All that could be seen was a flash of silver as the sound of ripping flesh as her sword relieved the man of his head. The heavy body fell to the floor with a wet sound and the roaring of a changewing could be heard. She snapped her head towards the direction of the dragon before baring her own teeth, the fuzzyness of the dragon in camouflage form barely being registered within her mind. She pulled a bola off the mans corpse and swung it, downing the dragon and watching as it spit acid at any who tried to come close to it.
"Wait for it to run out of that acid breath, then get it back to the training arena or so help me I'll have your heads! I have no room for incompetence from imbeciles such as yourselves."
Her words were hissed outwards, the pleasantness from before completely evaporating as her look became far more feral. Her eyes gleamed with cold malice and sadistic glee, her hands tightened with claw like nails, her teeth bared and a voice like poison. Within an instant she turned to look back at the other chief, her pleasant expression now back upon her face. She would appear to be a sweet woman that was pure of heart if not for the blood and gore that now coated her hands and the small amounts that covered her face. She gave a breath, voice back to a sweetness that it had held before.
"Apologies for the interruption, I defeated Alvin in hand to hand combat and came out victorious. Therefor by right I have claimed the title of Chieftess. It is a pleasure to meet you Hiccup, shall we talk more inside? A feast is being prepared in honor of your visit.
She smiled sweetly, the intent to kill the other chief not on her list of things to do. Her sword was sheathed once more after having been wiped off on the downed mans clothing. She gave a wave of her hand, two other men coming to carry the body off for it to be served at the feast.

| | He glanced over at Toothless when she eyed him so closely, the dragon was prickling with discomfort the same way he was, and he released a slow breath to try and stay those feelings, "I trust him more than anyone else to watch my back." He said, in a rather simple and direct sort of way, he trusted his village, and his people, and his friends, but it was a different sort of trust entirely.
He was about to say more, but he was cut off by the other man fumbling to them, babbling about a Changewing escaping, and no sooner had he approached than his head was rolling across the ground, and Hiccup was left standing there wide eyed...Had that just happened? He'd seen a lot of fairly violent and unpleasant things, but for some reason that made his stomach churn more than he cared to admit. He exchanged a look with Toothless, feeling more afraid now than he had been previously. He tried to shake it off though, and tried not to flinch when she hurled the bola with perfect accuracy, "does this happen often?" He eyed the man's corpse, nudging it with his foot, "the whole...off with your head shtick..." He couldn't seem to tear his eyes from the sight, as fascinated as he was horrified, he'd never seen someone beheaded before...Not that he wanted to...But there was still that morbid curiosity that humans were notorious for.
When she spoke, he snapped back to attention, ceasing his nudging of the man's headless body and stumbling over his words, "right...Right! Yeah that...Makes sense..." He shuffled now, looking surprise, "but...You didn't even know who I was until I told you..." He squinted an eye, "do you throw all your guests feasts?" Just what was going on with this strikingly terrifying woman? He wasn't sure he wanted to find out, clearing his throat, "w-well uh...That's...Thoughtful, we uh, appreciate it." His ease returned, but shaky and weak, when she sheathed her sword, and he made a mental note of his own weapons that he'd brought alone...Just in case.

Come Dance With The Devil Bow down and look to your leader, see me as I carve my brand into you and watch as I revel in your pain and fear She turned to face him with a sly smirk upon her face, listening to the flow of words that ran free from his lips. A soft chuckle escaped her lips and guards scurried about, working quickly as she was certainly not known for her patience. The air filled with the smell of wet ash and she grimaced, that meant the fog would be thick tonight. She could already see its tendrils winding their way over her shores and impairing all vision. She gave a breath and spoke, her eyes holding a cold and calculating malice to them.
"Many loose their heads here, after all one must cut the weakest links of the chain of society here. Here the weak feed the strong and the strong protect the homeland. As for me knowing who you were, not many ride nightfuries with a prosthetic tail. Now then shall we head to Solitude? Our main hall."
She would lead the way, her gaze icy to any who tried to approach. She pushed the large iron gate open to reveal large basins of fire and tables stained with blood. The main hall was always something she loved to view, the sight of Alvin's mounted head a prominent feature as it hung just above her throne. The chair decorated with depictions of war and bloodshed looking more like a skeletal chair of Hel. Its color was splashed with dried blood and made of a dark colored steel. The appearance of spires and screaming ghouls surrounded the base and she easily took her place there, gesturing for him to take a seat within the silver chair beside her throne. It was far more pleasant in appearance, looking almost like a delicate winter scene with hints of those suffering from frostbite woven in.
Of course one could pass those designs off as the trick of the lighting.
She would gesture for the feast to be brought out, her eyes never leaving their following path of the other Chief. The bodies of those prepared for the feast, along with the raven haired beauty, were laid out upon the tables. Dragon and whatever little sea food that was brought in were laid out as well. Slowly her people filed in and she stood, perfectly happy to give the greeting ceremonies.
"Rán has smiled upon us today by allowing us a guest! The traveler is none other than the Dragon Rider himself! Tonight we feast in celebration of his arrival and hopeful peace treaty!"
She held her arms out as if basking in the destruction and carnage that was laid out before her. Her people cheered and began feasting, the young maidens heart brought to her on a platter. She allowed it to be set aside on the arm rest of her chair before sitting back down.
"Now then, I hope you came with the intentions of a peace treaty."
She offered a telling smile, her eyes saying more than her words. Say no and I'll rip your tongue from your skull.

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high There was something instinctive that told him that he should feel disconcerted by that smile, but he tried not to let his unease show as he listened to her speak, he'd caught that smell too, a smell that promised difficult flying conditions at least around the immediate island, but he was determined not to let himself be made to stay because of that, especially not if he started to feel a prickle of danger from any of this. He chuckled a little and shrugged, following after her when she suggested they go to the main hall.
"It's...Understandable? Living in such a harsh environment. I suppose that makes sense though, I've painted myself a fairly obvious sight I suppose..."
He was surprised by the sight of the main hall, decorated in a grisly sort of way that left nothing to the imagination as to what horrors might be done here, but the thing that made him stop in his tracks against the Night Fury at his heels was the head mounted on the wall, and he had to resist the rising bile in his throat, and that watered feeling that almost meant that he was about to throw up. He swallowed it down, several times to right off the urge to vomit as he found his feet and followed after her, not wanting to seem rude.
He didn't speak, only nodded when she gestured for him to sit, doing so and feeling his entire body tense and begging him to bolt, to turn and run as fast as he could away from whatever horrors he'd just entered in on. It made sense now, the sudden lack of contact with Alvin, he'd thought it strange at first, but the Outcasts had always been fickle with their shaky truce, seeing the way this woman ran things, he realized peace was not only smart, but vital with the Outcasts now.
He was glad when her own words confirmed that peace was indeed what she wanted, and when she finished introducing him, he looked to his side at her, finally finding his voice as he cleared his throat.
"Yes, my father was never willing to make a treaty official with Alvin, old grudges die hard I suppose. But their grudges need not mean anything for us, I think it would be wise to draw up a treaty between us."
He spoke honestly, even though the threatening words more than assured his decision, he'd always been good at putting on a diplomatic voice, impartial and neutral when he had to be. He didn't know the way these people lived, even during Alvin's time they'd never seemed this organized, it would be interesting to see how they functioned.
