I'M TIRED OF FIGHTING FOR ONCE I WANT TO BE FOUGHT FOR
TAG: @open. WORDS: XXX. NOTES: "Dialogue" 'Thoughts and actions' (also I know it's short, I'm sorry its late and I'm tired XD)
Kiara found herself struggling, once again, to take flight at the edge of the isle she was so hellishly trapped on. She hated it, hated being here, hated being trapped here, hoping that a new day brought a new companion to talk with an share stories of the outside world that she was pitifully missing, stuck on this god-forsaken isle.
She let out a shrill whistle of frustration, electricity crackling around her membraned appendages as she 'stomped'... or the Skrill equivalent of a stomp. She HATED IT HERE, but she couldn't escape.
And that was her problem. Her fear.
Her species was known for their viciousness and fearlessness, and her obnoxious, heart-gripping fear made her feel like she was failing her late father's vision for her life. Being the greatest Skrill to ever live. How did one even measure one's greatness, even? She wasn't quite sure, but she was sure that her useless fear of water certifiably docked some "greatness points" from wherever they were stored.
As she continued to snap, whistle, and growl at the murky depths far below the cliff, something landed behind her, or approached, rather, and she whipped around, seeing nothing, but sensing the other presence. "Show yourself, intruder." she hissed, snarling with pent up frustration and anger.

The Wooly howl of no more than a year's age had been exploring the island he had called home since his mother brought him here what felt like forever ago. He never knew why she left and never returned, but he assumed this was some sort of test like when she had taught him the first bits about flying, and then pushed him out of a tree. Of course he had loved his mother, though it had been rough love most of the time, he understood that the world was a dangerous place... but the only dangerous thing he had really seen so far was the occasional angry dragon, like the one he was currently spying on, hidden in the lush canopy of a tree. His small size usually meant he could crawl out over the smaller branches with no problem, quietly and confidently. This would be a good lesson for the young dragon to learn, about gravity and being too bold. He was taking a step out on a limb far too small for him, and broke the branch, which made the small dragon yelp as he plummeted towards the ground, the fall to short for him to use his wings to pull himself up, and landed in a bush on his back. The fall hadn't hurt too bad, and his wings were fine. He quickly stood, the skrill calling out about an intruder would had made him laugh... had it not been the fact he was said intruder, and it was an angry skrill he was going to have to deal with. He poked his head out of the bush slowly, looking up at the larger dragon with wide, scared eyes. For a dragon who was usually so carefree and careless, he sure was frightened now. Without a larger dragon like his mother to protect him then what was stopping a larger dragon from simply scooping him up and hauling him off to be eaten? He hadn't heard any descriptions of a dragon like this from his mother, but this one certainly looked enough to trample him. Cautiously he exited the bush the rest of the way, body low to the ground, ready to dash off if the dragon proved to remain hostile, and silently he wished he hadn't climbed into the trees to spy, as his aching back was hurting a little more than he thought it would.

The skrill's eves softened immediately when the young howl emerged. She had seen something fall from a nearby tree, but hadn't been fully aware of what exactly had fallen. Now that she saw the practically baby Wooly howl, she approached, her own irritations leaving as she quickly and gently scooped up the small male with her talon, placing him gently on her back, between her spines and out of the way of her wings, and flying gently to her large cave that wasn't to far off from their position.
She landed as gently as she could, trying to not shake the ground, and sparked the old fire pit Hiccup and Toothless had left in the center of the rocky den when they left to restock on supplies, leaving her alone and scared. But she understood she couldn't expect them to fix her immediately, and currently she was more worried about the small howl that had been caught out in the storm with her, while she conducted so much frustrated lightning.
"You're not... hurt are you? From the fall?" She asked gently, sliding him off her spines with her wing and nudging him closer to the dancing warmth. Her attitude now was a stark contrast with the anger she had shown earlier, and she, fully aware of how terrifying an angered skrill can be, stepped away from the young dragon, using her long wing to slide a slab of boar meat to him and give him his space.
Her eyes glistened in worry, she feared he had done something to his shoulders or back by falling, and she surely didn't want to startle the child with her outburst, she just hadn't had the most... socially fufilling interactions with other dragons that happened upon her isle, and while she won all the fights, mostly due to her insanely powerful ability to literally conduct electricity around her body, it still kept her on edge nearly all the time, especially if she sensed something nearby.
She watched the youngling closely, keeping her distance and waiting patiently for his reply--if he could even reply, that was. She supposed if he lacked the social skills enough to talk, she'd have to carefully examine him, but that would be if push came to shove with her.

The young Howl wasn't to thrilled about being picked up by a larger dragon he didn't quite know yet, but seeing how she relaxed when she saw who it was made him feel slightly more confident about the situation. Being placed on her back made the little hatchling growl playfully, pretending to attack her back by nibbling on one of her spines, tiny claws wound around it, though he was careful not to dig his claws in, spine or not he remembered from his mother that playing rough was never fun for anyone.
When at what appeared to be this new dragons den he looked up, curiosity peeked as he looked around. He hadn't been to many parts of the island, the den of another dragon either. Aside form his mother he had only ever met two friendsly dragons, of which one had been a gronkle and the other something small he couldn't remember the name of.
When the skrill asked if he was fine he sat up straight and puffed out his chest, smiling up at her, "Just bruised, nothing a big dragon like me can't handle!" He beamed, shifting towards the fire and enjoying the warmth, and he gave the larger dragon a toothy grin as she offered him food, something he couldn't ever seem to find enough of on his own, and quickly devourered what he was offered, tail wagging happily. "Thanks!" He cooed happily, licking his chops at the taste of meat that wasn't squirrel, to him those nasty fur balls were about as nasty as eating grass, but he had to eat to survive so that was that.
