PERSONALITY,

[Positive] Despite being a fairly introverted young man, Hiccup is a natural leader, with an uncanny ability to take charge in a situation without even realizing that he's done so, he is always the one to fill in that role when no one else is willing. He has a very level head for the most part, and a quick mind that is extremely adept at coming up with hacked together ideas on the fly, even when the situation gets sticky, he can usually find an out of the box solution to get out of it seemingly at the drop of a hat. He has a very creative way of looking at everything, and a fairly artistic flair in everything he does, evident in his ability to draw with fairly confident accuracy. He has a deep sense of compassion and empathy, always willing and ready to help where he can lend a hand, and a fearless streak that makes him an incredibly bold and relentless opponent in a fight. He makes up for in brains and quick wit what he lacks in brute strength.

[Negative] However, he tends to be fairly unable to see his positive traits, because he suffers from an intense self doubt that has stemmed from growing up with the reputation and ridicule that he has. He has a hard time attributing his accomplishments and talents to himself, because his faults and failings tend to take center stage in his mind. He is constantly striving to prove himself, to a nearly obsessive degree, and because of this tends to feel like he has to face problems on his own, leading him into dangerous situations that could have been avoided had he asked for help. His empathy and willingness to forgive and give second chances is as much a bane to him as it is a blessing, as he is often far too trusting of those who have wronged him, even deeply so, in the past, he wants to believe that everyone has the potential to change, even when it blows up in his face. He struggles deeply with the burden and weight of everything that he's done and everything that has happened to him, to the point of breaking, but tends to shrug it off as if it were nothing, unwilling to tell anyone how badly the panic and anxieties are building in his chest until he snaps and blows up, he is a ticking time bomb on the best of days, and an out of control dumpster fire of the worst.

[Overall] Hiccup has the potential to be an incredibly strong person, and in many ways he already is, but his strengths are held back considerably by the iron shackles that he's attached to his neck, slowly choking the life out of him without him even realizing it's being done. He is, overall, a snappy and good humored person however, always ready with a sarcastic comment or a witty retort, he's a good friend and a good leader, if only he would allow himself to see that. The pressures and traumas that he's faced have made him into a sometimes unstable personality, but he manages to hold his head up and smile for the people around him,
wishing only to be a good chief for Berk, even if in the end, it kills him.

[Appearance] A sleek dragon, black as night, with two bright pale greenish yellow eyes. Since being captured by Viggo, Toothless' tail fin has been completely replaced by a full prosthetic, the control is more involved, but works in a similar fashion to the half piece.
[Temperament] Toothless is very much like his rider in the sense that he tends to respond to things with a dry and often sarcastic attitude, but he also displays a very playful and curious personality when confronted with new things and friendly dragons. He is incredibly intelligent, and seems to fully know it, he tries to act noble but is just as prone to being caught rolling in the grass or chasing butterflies as he is devotedly standing guard.

The lack of other Night Furies has never bothered Toothless as much as it seems to bother his rider, as he fully accepts the humans and dragons around him as family, and Hiccup as his brother, the concept is interesting, as it is to anyone, but finding other Night Furies is always the last thing on his mind.

Toothless is also extremely dedicated to Hiccup, displaying and incredible amount of protectiveness to him, he knows better than anyone else the deeper feelings that his rider tries to hide from the world, and does his best to quell his doubts where he can, to the best of his abilities. Even it sometimes all that means is being a shoulder to cry on when Hiccup is broken down and hysterical at night.
