He kept his eyes trained on the area around him, finding it much easier to watch out when he didn't have to contend with the snow being damn near up to his waist. By the time they got closer to where the land arched into the mountain, the snow was noticeably less deep, and he tapped on her shoulder to be let down, coming to crouch down by the sand for a moment to touch over it with his hand, "it's still warm, barely, but the heat's still there..." He looked up when he noticed her continue on, following after her as they followed after the foot prints, "and who knows how long they'd been flying before landing, if they're exhausted they can't have gotten far." He looked thoughtful, "with the way it was snowing when we landed, these tracks would have been covered, they're somewhat fresh." He mused, taking a good look around for anymore clues. “Right you are,” Henry beamed with a snap, looking around as she continued on, a feeling in her guy that this adventure would be a real challenge. She draped an arm around the smaller boy's frame, though she suddenly pushed down on his head, the slight sound of sprinkling catching her ears… like that of an hourglass. “Up there, look look!” Came her sudden excited calls, as she pointed up at a cliff a little ways off over a solid icy exposed part of the glacier, a sand pile was forming under a cliff high up where a brown tail would be seen poking off the ledge.
Henry knew there was no way possible on getting on that cliff without wings. “I'm going to let her know we're here before we get any closer. If we're lucky we’ll get a chance to speak with her and the baby, if she won't give us a lift then Gummy can when he wakes up.” She explained and let out a sand wraith call she had learned form Gladios, which caught the mother’s attention since she peeked over the ledge… slipping in the process due to the melting snow from her sand nest she had been attempting to make. The baby was on her back, clinging tight as she fell and landed on her head.
“Shit!” Henry called out in horror, running towards the fallen dragon and baby, the mother was okay, aside from the bump, though Henry running towards her wasn't a welcomed greeting. After being chased by humans she was reluctant to let one approach, especially near her baby. Thankfully Henry had a little something special on her, grabbing dragon nip from her pocket and approaching more slowly as she held the plant out she smiled, cooing softly to the Titan wings mother, who herself wasn't a Titan. “Take it easy, I'm here to help okay?” she said softly and glanced behind her to Gustav, smiling exitedly before she sat on the snow infront of the dragon and held her hand out still, guesturing for her to approach.

He glanced to the side when she explained what she was going to do, nodding as he stood back to let her do her thing. This tended to be the areas where she was far superior to him in ability(though that tended to be the case in most areas), so he did his best not to interfere, but he noticed the way the ice was dripping down where the sand was, "Uh...Hey...Th..." He winced when the dragons came tumbling down, looking alarmed. It was a relief when neither seemed terribly injured, and he breathed out a soft sigh, watching her in action with an appreciative smile. He knew there wasn't much he could do in this particular situation, and he was fairly sure if he tried to approach, either the Sand Wraiths would flee or something awful would happen, so he hung back where he was, opting instead to keep a close watch on the horizon for anything that happened to look off around them, his eyes had always been fairly sharp, and someone needed to play look out. Henry kept her hand outstretched, making low crooning noises to the dragon and her baby, and ever slowly the mother crept forwards, after several long minuets of slow movements she met her nose to Henry's hand, crooning herself at the dragon nip, snorting through her nose and looking back up at the ledge, and then to Henry. "Where can we build on this island? No where else is safe." The mother asked to herself, though she was more than surprised to find Henry answering her back. "The cliff, just further back. You can't use as much sand as you want, but my friend and I can help, but you'll have to lend a wing and help us up." The sandwraith beamed, seemed maybe the mixture of her being a mother and wanting to protect her baby, mixed with her being tired and dragon nip made the sand wraith more approachable, lucky she wasn't a Titan wing or this would still be rather difficult.
Henry waved her hand to Gustav to guesture for him to come close, and she carefully boarded the dragon's back, petting her sides while the baby Titan wing looked up at her expectantly. Not seeing any harm with it she let the baby's head too, earning a happy croon. WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

[attr="class","typetextbox"] [attr="class","typetext"] Where was the ship? It was somewhat bugging him that they hadn't seen it yet, sure dragons were faster, but Gummy's pace had been slower at the tail end of the journey due to fatigue, they'd been coasting more than flying, and the fact that he hadn't seen even the smallest hint of sails over the horizon in the direction they'd come from was worrying, were they coming from a different direction? From the far side of the island? He let out a soft breath, about to point this out when he caught Henry gesturing to him and smiled, "making friends?" He teased softly, coming closer to run a gentle hand over the mother's neck befor he carefully climbed up with Henry taking the chance to speak now that he could be close to her ear. "We need to be careful. That ship should have touched ground by now but there's no sight of it in the direction we came in from." He slipped his arms around her waist, sounding serious, "which means they might be coming in from a different direction. We need to keep our eyes open." His expression softened when the baby made a soft sound, and reached out a careful hand to run it over his head with a grin. Henry nodded in agreeance. "We can't leave though. The mother is too tired and Gummy is still sleeping, unless we find some sort of midway point we won't be able to make it back at all." The sandwraith lifted, taking furious flaps of the wings to make it to the ledge, her body still worn from the trip. Henry pet where her wings met her back once they landed, "Alright. Same thing we did for Gummy, we make a hole and build up around it, only bigger." She turned to the sand wraith and went to where the cliff met the icy mountain, another steep climb, but she wasn't planning on climbing. "Here is good, can you dig for us?" The mother snorted and did as asked, making a large hole while Henry worked on patting down the area around it. WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

He wasn't particularly afraid of a fight, he wasn't particularly afraid of dying either, he was more afraid of failing at the task they'd set out to do, because failing this meant they failed these dragons, and as far as he was concerned that wasn't an option, "we'll figure this out." He grinned at her as they slipped off the side of the dragon, "if anyone can you can, you're the most clever person I know...I'll keep watch." He offered, "someone ought to, and I'm a bit useless otherwise..." He chuckled, watching them go to work quickly making a large snowy shelter for the dragon and her baby before he turned his attention back to the distance, still a bit ruffled and put off by the lack of any sort of ship or vessel. "Good instinct, yes. Clever? Not so much." She laughed and pet the mother sand wraith while the baby sat in her lap, and she left a small opening for Gustav to squeeze through, "I lived in the wild for a while. Being with dragons that long, you tend to just act because you've been in the same situation before and know how to handle it. Know your priorities." She exited the hole and walked over to Gustav, holding his hand gently, looking out over the horizon and up at the northern lights. "I like the way you think better. I'm no leader when it comes to these kind of things. I take orders and follow them. If I was in charge with a team out here I probably would have run off to go play with the sand wraith and stay longer than I was supposed to." She leaned her body against his slightly, waving her hand over the sky in front of them, "That's why I'm really glad you're here. Not just because I like you, or because we work well together, but we get the job done. I also have an instinct to listen and protect you, so placing you first helps me better myself in a way." She blushed faintly, something new to her as she bit her lip and looked down at Gustav, "... I don't think I've felt that towards another person before."
Henry was about to apologize for rambling when movement caught her eye and suddenly a weighted net fell over the Titan wing and her baby, half asleep in the hole, they were now good and trapped... and many many men were working their way down the cliff slopes with ease, as falling was easier than climbing on ice, and on the cliff no more than twenty feet out and wide... they were surrounded. He looked like he was struggling to find his words, when he was distracted by the sound too, glancing back with wide eyed as he spotted the men coming down towards them, "Shit..." He mumbled the words half to himself, there were a lot of men coming towards them. He swept his eyes over the area around them, looking for something that could be used as a weapon. His eyes finally settled on a blunt and sturdy branch, which he picked up and took a step towards the assembling men, seeing no choice given their current situation but to fight, "we're cornered, there's no way off this cliff but down, and we wouldn't survive that fall..." He let out a soft breath and gripped the makeshift weapon tightly, "so we fight." For all the good it would do, they were wildly outnumbered, caught between blades and a deadly fall, either way they went would just end up leading to death, but that wasn't something he was particularly afraid of. Henry remained oddly calm at their disposition, eyes going around from the screaming sandwraiths to the hunters and to Gustav. She grabbed the stick from him and dropped it over the cliff, listening for how long it took to hit the ground. It wasn't too much different from the time she had jumped to save Gummy, but unlike a baby dragon, Gustav couldn't glide. "We either die and loose the dragons... Or you live and Gummy takes you home for back up, the ships can't get far in a few days... Take care of Gummy for me, okay?... I love you." She kissed him and took off her goggles and put them on his face before scooping up in her arms in a bridal carry, and whistling for her dragon. She smiled at Gustav and let out a sharp exhale, holding her breath as she jumped, clinging tightly to the boy. The wind whipped past her so fast she was sure the impact would be in the instant of jumping, but the fall was long... and she simply waited for it to come, though by some miracle her breath was lost from a different sort of impact, something snatching her from out of the sky sideways so that instead of splatting on the ground she only hurt her butt a little.
She opened her eyes, allowing herself to breath as she looked down, familliar navy blue scales greeting her eyes, along with Gustav in her arms. She let out a shaky sigh of relief, smiling brightly down at Gustav. "Thank the gods I had my good luck charm with me, eh?" She said to her friend, sitting him upright and facing her, almost in her lap as she patted Gummy, wondering if they should go back for the wraith or back up. WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

He didn't even have time to register what was happening, or the words that she'd said, before he was scooped up, and before he could even cry out any objection, they went over the edge of the cliff, and he knew exactly what she was planning on doing. He couldn't even scream as the wind whipped past them, all he could manage was to cling his arms around her tightly, it was too late to do much else but wait for the inevitable. When they hit the back of her dragon instead of the ground below, he let out a yelp from the jolt, not daring to open his eyes or even breath for a few good seconds for fear of what sight might greet him. When he finally cracked his eyes open, he glanced around, then his eyes rested on her's, feeling suddenly overcome with a wave of dizziness as his eyes rolled up into his head for a moment of blackout before coming to focus on her, "y-y-you...You..." His voice cracked and he pulled her tight against him, shaking against her like a leaf caught in a hurricane, "you were g-g-going to...F-for me?! Henry a-are you...Who am I k-kidding of course you're crazy...I almost lost you...I almost lost y-you!" He didn't realize that he was sobbing through his words until he felt the wetness against her shoulder where his face was pressed, "w-w-what would I have d-done without you?!" His grip on her was still vice-like, and he refused to move from where he was pressed against her, trying and failing to calm his breathing. Henry pointed and Gummy shot round after round if fire and spines, allowing the dragon to do as he pleased, since he could think for himself, while she focused on Gustav, her own eyes watering as she took her goggles off his face, "I didn't have time to think about it... " She hugged her arms around him, hand stringing through his hair as she rocked slightly in a soothing motion, her other hand going around his back, she wasn't shaking like he was but she was certainly thankful to be alive, to have him alive, and to have her dragon too. She squeezed her hold on Gustav tighter, not wanting him to see the tears stringing down her face that she quickly wiped away and a scoff left her throat, "Gustav, you're more than my friend. I'm close to you as I am to Gummy, and that's something that means something to me. I couldn't let you die for ... innumerous reasons... but one is because I love you, okay?" She pulled him closer, resting her cheek on his head, "I put you first. I'd jump again with you if I knew you'd live."
She felt her own heart rate returning to normal, a good sign, and continued to pet Gustav, "You wouldn't have lost me. Yeah I'd be pretty dead but that doesn't mean I would have left you." WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES
