But don't you believe them DON'T YOU DRINK THEIR POISON TOO
He chuckled and looked a little thoughtful, "still getting the hang of this leadership things..." He was thankful that for the most part, the other members of his team seemed willing and ready to learn from him, there were always a few bad eggs, but the rest of them did a fairly good job of drowning out the negativity most of the time. He looked a little flattered when she said she trusted him, "lets hope I don't blow that too..." He gave her a half hearted smile, then cleared his throat and chuckled, "no one can lead like Hiccup can, but he is pretty hard on himself...Can't blame him...But y'know..." He shrugged, "I don't really doubt myself, any decision I make I mean, just...Sometimes my decisions don't go the way I want them to...Sometimes I wonder if I'm cursed..." He said this only half jokingly, but it was something he wondered sometimes. His smile brightened up when she gave his shoulder a friendly punch, and he chuckled, "careful what you wish for...But...I'm glad someone wants me to be myself..." He just hoped being himself didn't end up the way it usually did. He turned when he spotted the cave, nodding, "lets check it out!" He waved a hand for her to follow as he poked his head in to look around, the outside looked a tad unstable, but not enough that either of them could possibly knock it loose.

Henry smiled comtently, starting to check he cave for anything, signs of wet walls, which would mean that rain could sleep in or that it was unstable due it an hndergoeund river, but finding the walls dry she smiled and continued to investigate, getting down on all fours and sniffing rocks and curiously looking them over. A few faded scales of various dragons were scattered about, but none looked fresh enough besides a groncke scale, hardly a dragon that could pose a threat. "We just have to clear out the dead leaves and I think we can get a fire going in here, sound good?" She asked as she sat on her knees, grabbing dragon scales and sticks alike, humming under her breath and faintly singing as she looked them over, eyes al,ost crossed as she held a purple scale to her face. "Hiccup would love these. This one belong to a skrill, and this one belongs to a zippleback!"

But don't you believe them DON'T YOU DRINK THEIR POISON TOO
Gustav chuckled as he followed her into the cave, glancing around with a careful eye as he took stock of the place, it seemed like the perfect spot to camp out, it was spacious and dry so they could easily make a fire, he glanced back at her when she spoke, grinning wide, "Yeah! this cave'll do perfectly!" He didn't think much of it as he picked up a few stones that were in the way of the spot they intended to put the campfire, chucking them out through the mouth, he flinched a little when he heard one of them ping off a tree, a clattering of pebbles following close behind, but when nothing followed suit, he breathed out a relieved sigh, continuing to clear the area of dead leaves so they could get their fire going. "We should being them to him, I know he collects them for a lot of different reasons!" He was carrying a few more stones to arrange into a fire pit when he tripped, sending both himself and the arm full rolling hard into the wall of the cave, the ruckus that followed shook the ground as he managed to loosen the last of whatever was holding the stones into place, and he only just managed to scramble out of the way before the whole rock slide came down around the mouth of the cave, heavy stones effectively sealing them inside. "Shit! Are you kidding me?!" His voice shook with a slight panic as he gaped at what he'd caused from his spot on the ground, more than a little shaken by the fact that that had very nearly come down right on top of him. His breath was fast for a moment as he scrambled to his feet, "why does this always happen?!" He threw his hands up with a frustrated sound, leaning back against the wall of the cave as he ran his hands over his face, "gods I really am cursed..."

Henry was still picking up scales absentmindedly when Guestav three the pebble, which didn't really catch her attention. She started to gather sticks for the fire, tensing as the big fell and dropped the rocks noisily against the ground, jumpimg up quickly to help him up, "Are you hurt?" Were the words muffled by the sound of much larger rocks falling, and the light from outside dimmed to almost pitch black, so dark that even Henry couldn't see all that well, coughing as dirt and dust clouded the air within the cave. She grabbed Gustav's hand gently, a laugh leaving her mouth, "We're both alive aren't we? Don't be so hard on yourself, just a little cave in." She coughed again, waving dust from her mouth when something caught her attention. An echo of the rocks tumbling... and a breeze, even though there was a cave in, which meant no air would escape or get in enough to create solid noticeable wind.
"There's another way out, now we get a real adventer! This is great! Ah, we can't see though... hold on." She got on her hands and knees and felt around, grabbing two stones that the boy had dropped and crawling her way back to the camp fire in progress. Figuring light was more important that sleeves she ripped off her right sleeve and used it to tie small twigs to the larger stick, making a mobile fire, since for a torch you would need a decent oil to keep it burning using tent shaped twigs would be easier. Using her other sleeve, tearing it off, she sparked the rocks together till the fabric caught fire, and then held the end of her twig torch to it, which then caught on fire as well. She put out the flaming sleeve and tied it around her arm like a sash as she held the torch upright, bringing four stones and more twigs in case she needed it, before finally standing back up and smiling brightly at Gustav.

But don't you believe them DON'T YOU DRINK THEIR POISON TOO
He finally caught his breath a few moments later, getting to his feet and shaking his head when she asked if he was hurt, "n-no...I'm alright..." He waved the air clear, completely blind in this dark as he followed the sound of Henry's voice, bumping into her a little bit, "a little cave in? If this is a little cave in than I'm a tiny hurricane..." He laughed at this though, feeling a bit better with her reassurance that things were maybe not as bad as they seemed to be, it was hard to convince himself that he wasn't actually cursed, but he still felt better, "yeah, I guess it's hard not to be...When things seem to always go wrong around me..." Next thing he knew the cave would just come down on their heads...Think positive... He followed her voice, and then noticed the breeze she'd felt, nodding as he tried to find where she was, "seems like it, just have to find it." He couldn't help an admiring smile when she called this an adventure, feeling a little pumped up when it was put like that, "yeah! More fun than decorating right? Maybe we'll find like...Treasure or something cool down there!" He couldn't help the excitement in his voice, looking impressed when she sparked up a fire, "I am so ready! Lets get searching!"

Henry smiled and ruffled the smaller Viking's hair, or ruffled his helmet rather, and wielded the torch far above her head, "Adventure! ... Unlike usual I don't have Gummy to save me, and caverns like this could have sudden drops, so even though you're the captain of this mission, I think it'd be best if you let me stay in front. Your luck has been good so far, but I don't want to take any chances." She started to walk forwards, nodding for Gustav to stick close, her hand running along the wall, and she'd give the occasional stomp to the ground to make sure it was stable, torch stretched in front of her, "Since this island isn't technically claimed, if we do find treasure then it belongs to us~!" She said mischievously, stopping and smelling the air curiously. "No smell of trees... It's a long way to the exit, but we can do it. There's a fork here, left or right, captain~?" She asked and handed him the torch, seeming to trust that there were no sudden falls to her knowledge, mostly that would be in river formed tunnels, but this seemed more like a volcano formed one, a dead volcano at that. Her hand appeared black from rubbing it against the volcano so much.
"Nothing is flammable besides ourselves, and even then if you caught fire I could put you out so nothing to worry about These walls are pure solidified volcanic ash. Not even a red death could tear them down!" She mused and wiped her hands on her pants, "It'll stain your hands and clothes tough, and burn if it gets into a cut, fair warning. So if you feel a wave of your magic coming on then land on me~" She said with a wink and spun in a circle, looking around the black cave curiously as she waited for her captain to make his decision.

But don't you believe them DON'T YOU DRINK THEIR POISON TOO Gustav laughed when she pushed his helmet down, smirking over at her as he readjusted it on his head, nodding when she said that she would take the lead for now, "alright, but be careful, okay?" He said this with a little edge of concern in his voice as he trailed after her, keeping close to her side as they made their way carefully through the caverns, glancing around, "Right! Finders keepers!" He grinned, his own smile matching her tone in mischief. When she handed him the torch and suggested that he decide which way they go, he felt his heart leap into his throat. This was a lot, and there was a good chance he could lead them right into some horrible situation just based on this once decision, "m-me?!" He laughed, clearly nervous, before he let out a steady breath to try and calm himself down so he could think, "okay...If we go left it's going to be more likely to lead us really deep, there's also a slight decline going that way, so we'd be heading down..." He sighed, "right might take us closer to an exit...It also looks like it heads up...Mmm..." He sighed, then looked back at her, "my gut's telling me to go left...But my head's not sure if it wants to trust my gut..." He looked thoughtful for a bit longer before setting his eyes, "Okay, we go left, if nothing comes of that, we double back and go right." He looked back at her, "that sound good?"

Henry simply nodded to him, not seeming to care that he was nervous about making the choice. She listened to his reasoning half heartedly and then started walking down the left tunnel, humming and smiling, "Volcano shoot... lava has to come out and go in somewhere, so the worst that could happen was we'd just be slowly walking at a decline, but I thin you're right about the left, let's get going then~" She grabbed his free hand and started walking, humming under her breath as she adjusted her goggles again, getting ash on her face in the process, and looking back at Gustav, "When we find the exit we can go explore the other tunnel, maybe write our names somewhere to claim it as ours~"

But don't you believe them DON'T YOU DRINK THEIR POISON TOO
There was something both endearing and terrifying about the fact that she seemed to trust him like this, no one ever seemed to put any stock into the things he said, not to any real degree anyway. People agreed, but in that condescending way that people always tended to speak to someone they really didn't care to listen to, it was usually just to shut him up, which usually worked, the worst feeling was not feeling wanted...And he couldn't remember a time that he'd ever really felt wanted.
Except Henry seemed to want him around, and that thought made his heart flutter the way it had been everytime he thought about her since their first encounter. He glanced up from his ponderings at her urging for them to head out, nodding and falling into step beside her, "Right! Well lets just hope your good luck overpowers my bad luck, right?" He chuckled, feeling his cheeks coloring a little when she took his hand, even if the gesture was meant innocently, it still gave him the tinglies. His face brightened and he gave her an enthusiastic nod at her suggestion, squeezing her hand without thinking, "Yeah! No sense in leaving that tunnel unexplored! We gotta mark this place after all, we found it, only fair!" He grinned, then took a breath, looking thoughtful, "I'm definitely feeling the breeze more, that's a good sign!"

Henry was having the time of her life, admittedly she felt bad that their dragons couldn't be there, but the tunnels were crowded anyway, plus there was something more... adventurous about going into the unknown with only you, and what you have on person. Dragons make fighting danger too easy. Henry loved adventures and risks for the challenges! She perked up as a light other than that of their torch came into view around a sharp corner, and Henry peeked her head out. "That light down there looks suspicious." She said jokingly, cautiously leading him forwards in case a dragon had made its home within the depths of the other tunnel. Sadly, she wasn't that lucky.

And if it ever starts to feel sad little fang Remember that your gifts are your gain
Gustav laughed when the thought suddenly hit him, shaking his head and glancing over at her, "bet Gummy and Fanghook are gonna be soooo mad when they find us! Scold us like parents!" He wrinkled his nose in a cheeky expression at the thought of dragons scolding them, the image in his head was complete with wing shaking as they squawked and growled at them, "Imagine what they're probably saying about us, gosh darn those riders of ours getting into trouble again!" He snickered a little, shaking his head in amusement as his own terrible sense of humor before he looked up and caught sight of the light up ahead shortly after her. He smirked to the side at her, deciding to play along with her joke, "uh oh, looks like my bad luck struck again! Bet that's just a big shoot of lava waiting for us to round the corner before it just...BLOWS ITS TOP! BOOM!" He jumped in the air when he spoke, grinning to the side at her, "that would be a little unfortunate, think we could get away?" He followed close behind her, his eyes widening in surprise when he saw what looked like a cave mouth up ahead, genuinely surprised that he'd made the right choice right off, "or maybe it's an exit! What do you know...Guess I'm not as stupid as I thought!" He grinned to the side at her.

Henry gave him a playful shove, "Don't even talk about scolding! Gummy is going to ground me for a month!" She teased and threw up her arms as she raced for the exit, letting out a loud laugh since they were more elevated than before, a cliff a good few meters away. The view was spectacular! Henry looked back to Gustav to answer him, though instead she grabbed his wrists and leaned down from her excitement, kissing him deeply for a short moment before jumping back and twirling, "Hah! I knew you could do it! I'm always right when it comes to trusting my gut, and my gut said to trust yours~!" She laughed and flopped back against the grass, deciding to answer him, "This is a dead volcano, there's nothing in it so we're okay. If here was lava and it blew though... We would have burned away pretty quickly." She put her Ames above her head and stretched, whistling so that Gummy would know where she was and bring Fanghook with him. "And you're not stupid. You're actually very logical, you just mix having fun into the mix with a touch of sarcasm and wit. That all makes traits for a good leader. The bad luck is just something that's a challenge in your life." She hummed and looked over at him, petting the grass beside her to signal the boy to lay down with her.
"Just because bad things happen doesn't mean you are a bad person, or dumb. You're strong for dealing with it." She sat up, smiling though her time was a little more serious this time, "Repeat after me! I won't let who I am be the stick stirring my shit pot!" WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

[attr="class","typebox"] [attr="class","typelyrics"]Be calm. Be calm. I know you feel like you are breaking down. I know that it gets so hard sometimes, be calm. Take it from me, I've been there a thousand times. You hate your pulse because it thinks you're still alive. And everything's wrong. [attr="class","typetextbox"] [attr="class","typetext"] He stumbled a little when she shoved him and laughed with her, giving her a wide grin, "lucky me, Fanghook is as much of a little shit, so he'll probably just egg me on!" He was about to say more on the subject when his wrists were sudennly grabbed, and his heart leapt right up into his chest when her lips met his, coloring his cheeks a deep red that he had no hope of stopping. There were a few rapid heartbeats that he just stood there with huge eyes, before he finally started struggling to regain his composure, only half catching what she was saying in his utterly dumbfounded state, "y-yeah! Well...Uh...Lucky us it's a dead volcano!" His voice cracked a little more than he wanted it to, just a few octaves higher, more than a little flustered. He chuckled and flopped onto the ground beside her, glancing over at her with a meaningful smile, "logical? I guess...I just pay attention to what's going on around me..." He laughed and rested his arm behind his head, gesturing with the other as he spoke, "you kind of have to when you've got a storm cloud of bad luck hanging over your head, I mean I'm not always good at paying attention, obviously, but I try." He grinned, "yeah? A sense of humor is kind of a necessity!" If he didn't learn to laugh things off, then he'd probably be a lot more bitter than he was, but that was an avenue he didn't want to stroll down. He was distracted by Henry's words and grinned, "okay okay, I wont let who I am be the stick stirring my shit pot..." He sighed a little and looked back up at the clouds, distracted by wing beats as Fanghook touched down close by, "Hey!" He grinned and hopped to his feet, pulling the large reptile's head down by his neck so he could hug him, earning and soft croon from the dragon, he glanced over at Henry, "we should check out that other tunnel now!" Henry giggled with a snort at the cute boy's flustered reaction to the kiss, humming contently as she looked up at the clouds. Gummy suddenly blocked the view by looming over her and squawking in her face. She giggled and pet him before standing up at the mention of the tunnel. Grabbing the torch from before she rubbed the top over the monstrous nightmares side and lit it. "Now it should stay alight longer. Let's go!" She made a swirl motion with her finger to Gummy, who snorted through his nose and looked to Fanghook.
"She wants us to stay out here." He said and gave the nightmare a friendly shove with his head. "How about a race~?" WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Take it from me, I've been there a thousand times. You hate your pulse because it thinks you're still alive. And everything's wrong. [attr="class","typetextbox"] [attr="class","typetext"] Gustav turned from his dragon's side and grinned when she rubbed the makeshift torch over his scales, grinning, "good thinking!" He gave Fanghook and reassuring pat on the nose before planting a kiss there, pulling him closer so what he said was between them, "We'll be fine, we're just gonna be gone for a bit...She kissed me, Fang, can you believe that?!" He gave the dragon a wide grin before turning to catch up to Henry, falling into step beside her, "I didn't see any break off tunnels on the way up this path, but that doesn't mean there wont be along the right tunnel...It's a shame we don't have rope, it'd be a good way to mark where we've been..." The thought of getting completely lost in a cave wasn't ideal, but he supposed if that happened it happened, they would figure out a way through, he just needed to think positive so maybe it wouldn't happen. Fanghook watched the teen disappear into the cave and shook his head, amused by his parting words. Humans. When Gummy butted his head against his side, the Nightmare turned a cheeky look back at him, giving an enthusiastic nod in response, "you're on, but I warn you, I'm quicker than I look!" He was much more boastful than his rider tended to be, but it was clear that it was said in jest as he hopped in his spot, nudging the Nadder back playfully before hopping off the side of the cliff and taking to the sky, turning a mischievous expression back at the other dragon, "try to keep up!"
