on my own I'm never gonna fall in line, your future is not mine. | He glanced back over at her at about the same moment that she jumped from her dragon to his own, the Night Fury jerking to the side only a little at the sudden added passenger before easily righting himself, the second person was nothing when compared to other passengers he'd carried in the past. Hiccup's expression was confused and maybe just a little alarmed when she began to feel his arm up, but after the initial surprise had worn off, he only chuckled at her little mumbles to herself.
"I tend to hear that a lot, the good thing about over exaggeration is that it tends to lend me the element of surprise. People expect me to be bigger, right? So when I show up, they laugh. There's something to be said for being underestimated by your enemies."
He couldn't help but laugh at the description of Toothless, patting him on the head and tsking softly.
"Well lucky for me he's not twenty feet long, poor guy wouldn't fit in my hut that way, would he? You'd hate having to sleep outside, huh Bud?"
He glanced back at her for a moment with a grin, giving her a soft warning to hold on tight before leaning down when he was sure she wasn't going to fling off the back, the motion was all the urging Toothless needed before he shot off like a rocket, screaming through the sky, he figured if she wanted to ride a Night Fury, he might as well give her the right kind of experience. He eyed behind him to make sure Gummy was following behind them, in case she got the wild idea to jump off or something.

"I think the size you are now is suiting. You're not too small, big enough you could hold you down in a fight- sure you're broad muscly Vikings can swing a broad hammer but I think fighiting is much easier when you have less ... surface area to worry about." She said with a small snorting giggle, "You'd make a good dragon." Henretta beamed, though she still wanted to check out his hair and legs as well as other areas to be sure, but the arms were good enough for the time being. Her attention was grabbed when he told her to hold tight and leaned forwards, she was conspfused for a moment but did as hold, wrapping one arm fully around Hiccup's upper torso while the other rested on Toothless's scales just behind her to support her weight enough that she didn't have to lean all the way over onto Hiccup. When the nightfury shot off, however, it was unexpected, and she quickly threw her other arm around Hiccup as well, letting out an excited gasp as the wind rushed past her, "Ah! The speed you can go is astounding~!" She managed out to the dragon as she caught her breath, glancing behind her to see Gummy struggling to catch up, performing dives and then coming back up just to glide, doing well to stay not too far behind. "Sorry love, I'll get back to you soon!" She called out sweetly to Gummy, who didn't really seem to care. She faced forwards again, wind tugging at her pinned up hair and making it tickle her face in the places it could reach. "What else can you two do?" She challenged with a michevious smirk. |

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high Hiccup found that compliment more endearing than anything else could have been, and she was right, he'd lamented his small size when he was younger, but the amount of times it had served him better than being bigger would have was too numerous to count. He didn't vocalize this though, too caught up in making sure they weren't flying towards anything at such high speeds, he made a mental note to show her how flying with Toothless worked, so that she could take him flying by herself at some point, for now he was more than content to give her a first hand taste of what they could do.
Toothless let out a giddy roar at the compliment to his speed, his rider turned a little to glance back at her at the question, accepting that challenge with a returned smirk.
"Well since you asked!"
He sat up a little and tugged back on the hold of the saddle, pulling Toothless fluidly into a flashy back flip before the three of them started to cartwheel through the sky, turning their direction to the ocean, never breaking their speed, though he glanced back to make sure her dragon wasn't too far behind as they did.
When they were over the open waters, he leaned down, angling them towards the ocean, Toothless seemed to pick up on what he wanted to do without him saying too much, and when they were close enough, the aerodynamic dragon dipped into the water, skipping across it with the momentum of his speed alone like a flat stone across a lake before pulling up and spinning back up into the sky, he looked back at her when they settled into a comfortable glide again.
"You know, if you want...I could show you how his tail works, then you could take him flying without me. What do you think of that idea, Bud?"
He turned his gaze back on the Night Fury, who gave an approving rumble, eyeing back at them with his mouth hanging open in a draconic grin.

Henretta let out a loud howl of joy, whooping as they spun and skipped, loving the thrill of the moment and wishing it could last forever. Of course, she nor a dragon could endlessly have speed and wind to roll through infinitely, risk dropping out if the sky from exhaustion. As they leveled out she pulled curiously felt over his chest piece, her chin resting on Hiccups shoulder so she could see where she was touching exactly. She looked to Hiccup, her checkup coming to a halt as he spoke of teaching re how to ride the nightfury, "You mean it? Really!" She squeezed both arms tightly around the boy, hugging him with almost all her strength, "I'm either dreaming or I've lost hearing!" She said as she let go, deciding to go back to just touching over his chestplate once more, speaking as she poked his stomach lightly, "You're a very trusting person. I wasn't sure what to make of you before I met you but I think I like this." She sat back, looking up at the sky with a wide grin, "I also think I've taken up enough of your time riding, and Gummy misses me~" She slid side saddle once more, putting a hand on Hiccup's shoulder to stand up on Toothless' back. She smiled down at the young chief before looking down at the water far below, Gummy already catching on was squeaking in irritation that his master was just bounding around from dragon to air. She jumped off the end of the dragon, back facing the water as she waved at Hiccup. Gummy shook his head before he flew after his master, catching her a little different than normal, though he had done it before. Usually after he was done messing around and just wanted a relaxing flight. He flew back into a glide just above Hiccup and toothless so that his rider could still talk with her new friend. She was hanging upside down, each of her legs held by one of her dragon's feet. "Hello again!" She laughed and crossed her arms over her chest as she looked up at Gummy, who was smiling smugly as he looked down at Henretta. "Haha very funny now either let me up or hold me upright." She said as she reached up and pat her Dragon's foot. Not wanting her to try anything for the remainder of the flight, he adjusted her so that he was holding her upright by her waitst, and Henry pretended she was swimming, moving her arms in the motion and kicking her legs, giggling again as she looked to Hiccup once more, "Gummy is a grumpy butt sometimes, but with me he has a right to be I suppose~" |

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high He tried to ignore her feeling him up as he listened to her speak, chuckling softly. There was something amazingly admirable about how passionate and excited she was, how eager to learn she seemed to be, it made him more than excited himself to show her, it was the first time he'd ever actively taught anyone else to fly with Toothless, but he figured maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to have someone else who could do it, in the event of his untimely death.
"Too trusting, some would say, it's gotten me into a lot of trouble in the past. I guess I always want to see the best in people, even when they wrong me."
He glanced back when she adjusted herself and stood, giving Toothless a look that caused the Night Fury to steady his flight as smooth as possible so she wouldn't jostle or shake under her. He couldn't help a snort of amusement when the dragon caught her in his claws, shaking his head as she ended up nearby, looking thoroughly amused by her predicament.
"Hello, you look fairly comfortable, though I don't imagine having the blood rushing to your head is very fun!"
He knew that they were fairly close to the Edge, though the island hadn't come into view just yet, so he kept the pace easy and calm as he lead the way, chuckling and reaching to pat Toothless on the head.
"Yeah, I get that, this big guy's a grump too sometimes, definitely not above scolding me with his wing or tail, usually deserved."

Henry laughed loudly as Hiccup spoke, before she was turned around, "Blood rushing to my head is fun until my face turns red, good thing Gummy here inst too stubborn~" She hung loosely from the dragon's talons, smiling happily, enjoying the feeling of wind against her, almost as if she herself were flying. It was pretty clear her nadder had no intentions of letting his rider back onto the saddle. The brunett hummed for a moment, holding her arms out like wings and sighing contently, "You know, I love the thrill of speed, but flying like this is very serene and relaxing~" She adjusted her goggle like glasses and looked down at the ocean below. "Think there's any scaldruns below us somewhere? I've seen one once before but Gummy didn't want to get close so I didn't get a good look... I'm sure you've seen plenty though, right?" |
