CloudJumper's four wings flapped furiously as the large dragon slowed himself to land, happily crooning as his rider slid off his back and onto the ground. The storm cutter looked over to Toothless and Hiccup, his own tail wagging. Valka started to take the beakers from the dragon's sides, as well as the bear from his back and laying them out. "I think this break from Berk is much needed" The woman said with a relaxed sigh, stretching and taking in a deep breath. "No one but us, dragons, and the island below us." She put her hands on her hips, eyes darting from one thing to the next. "What first? Set up our tents?"
She waited for the boy to answer, pulling everything out and getting it in so,evsort of order as she waited. "What kind of dragons do you think we'll find out here?" template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]The flight out had been lazy, relaxed, but not quiet, it felt like it had been ages since he last laughed and joked as much as they did on the way here, it felt nice to shut his brain off and feel more like himself for a change, and it only solidified the thought that he probably did need this, and he had a feeling his mother did as well. It wasn't hard to tell that she was feeling the pressure of being on Berk again, of trying to help him around the village, she deserved this as much as she seemed to think he did, and he was glad for the idea despite his apprehension on the subject at first.
He slid off Toothless' back and chuckled as he pulled off the things he'd volunteered to carry, "yeah, it feels like it's been ages since it's just been us, and I kind of missed it." There'd been a time when they first reunited that he half considered staying with her, and even if he knew he couldn't ever really do that, this was still nice. He grinned when he had Toothless unloaded and grabbed the dragon by the head in a hug, smooshing his cheek against the top of his head, "you need it too, huh Bud? After putting up with me all the time!" The Night Fury crooned in response before knocking him over playfully, putting a foot on his chest and causing Hiccup to let out a gasp at the weight, "Uff! Tents, that's a good place to start...Let me up!" He rolled to his feet when Toothless lifted his foot, coming to stand beside her, "I know this island is a stopping point for a lot of dragons, so there's no telling!" He grinned, "might see babies too, I know dragons like to roost here." He eyed Toothless with a cheeky expression, "wouldn't you like that? Babies just love you!" He ducked this time when the tail came swinging for his head, and he glanced back over at his mom, "Okay! Tents, gotta have somewhere to sleep, right?"

Hearing that Valka and Hiccup were about to start working on the shelters, and seeing that Toothless was normally a playfully dragon, (and more often than not CloudJumper wasn't in the mood to wrestle,) he decided why not and lowered his body against the ground before playfully lunging at the smaller black dragon, giving a warning growl of joy so he wouldn't startle the other dragon too bad.
Valka laughed at the sight and started to put her tent up, glad to be able to wipe her memory of worry and regrets and fears for the time, for the next few days at least things would be peaceful. She could focus on making memories with her son. "The dragons seem to be enjoying themselves." She commented as she struggled with her tent, not having put one together in quite some time. If there were no set instructions she would easily be able to make a live able she, tear out of it, but it was supposed to look and be put together a certain way. Gobber had showed her before... she just needed to remember. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]Toothless had been distracted watching the two riders when he heard the warning growl, looking to the side with a lazy expression that suddenly popped into a surprised, wide eyed look when he was knocked flat to the ground, letting out a gleeful sound as he rolled onto his feet and popped up, pouncing around the larger dragon with his rear waggling in the air like a dog that was eager to play, batting at him as he bounced around the Stormcutter, trying to push him over even if the task was nearly impossible given the size difference between them, his tongue hung out of his mouth in his pleased expression.
His rider let out a laugh himself watching the ebony dragon enjoying himself so wholly, it felt like it had been too long since he'd seen him play with such wild abandon as he was right now. He turned his attention back to his mother after a moment, raising a brow a little and coming to her side, "you know, since when has a Haddock ever done anything by the books anyway?" He chuckled, bringing over the pieces of his own tent, "I think it'd be more fun to see if we can build something better, don't you?" He gestured with a hand as he spoke, animated as always, "or we could sleep under the stars, I've never minded that!" He offered, trying to suss out a better solution than fighting with a tent, he'd never been entirely good at putting them together either anyway.

The storm cutter made a loud crooning noise and half of his body wiggled as his tail swayed. He suddenly jumped forwards and playfully used his large head to try and head butt the other dragon's side with just enough force to knock him over incass Toothless didn't have the sense to dodge the slow head on attack.
Valka liked Hiccup's reasoning. She was a lot like him in the way of being creative and using his head to find a better way of doing things. "We should make it into some sort of useable shelter in case it rains." She suggested and looked around for two palm trees close enough, "There looks good. Okay with what we have I think we can make a big inverse hammock big enough for all of us there if the inevitable happens." She said and excitedly grabbed the parts with pep in her step, glancing over her shoulder at her son, "Come on slow poke, the quicker we make this the quicker we can see what dragons are here!" template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] To love to kiss, to sweetly hold for the dancing and the dreaming [attr="class","itokaytext"]He let out an excited warble when he saw Cloudjumper making a motion to headbutt him over, leaping back before he stumbled over his own feet and went rolling across the ground, clearly not too concerned at the moment with looking foolish, even in front of the other dragon that he looked up to. When he got back to his feet he growled out and pranced back around behind the Stormcutter, moving to try and scramble up and over his back, clearly trying to use his small size to his advantage, since knocking the bigger dragon over had proven fruitless.
Hiccup nodded as he followed after her, taking a last glance at their dragons and shaking his head with a laugh, "think they needed to get away from everything too!" He could tell it had certainly done his mom good coming out here, and the improved moods of everyone around him lifted his own spirits, it was hard to feel stressed with this much positive energy around him, "Okay I'm coming!" He chuckled, following after her to the place she'd picked out so he could help her set their shelter up, "this was a good idea." He finally mused, half to himself though it was said out loud, "thank you for bringing out here." He gave her a meaningful smile, then nodded at her comment about the dragons, "this place is so tropical, I bet we'll see color morphs that no one's seen before!" He'd made sure to pack plenty of books and things to draw with, never one to miss an opportunity to do that.

❝ | You have the heart of a chief and the soul of a dragon. Only you can bring our worlds together. That is who you are, son. | ❞ |
CloudJumper huffed as the nightfury scrambled up his back, one spot he was unable to reach, and flopped down on the ground in pretend defeat, crooning a low grumble like sound as he nessled himself in the warm sand. "Want to take a flight around the island?" He asked the nightfury as he closed his eyes peacefully.
Valka had already started up making what she had seen in her mind eye, the design was simple so she just expected Hiccup to catch on and roll with it like she herself was doing. "Of course this was a good idea. If you're as much like me as I know you are, nothing clears your head more than a fly away from stress, or a nice vacation. Adventure even. Something worth while without the fret of responsibility." She smiled at Hiccup brightly, "No one around to tell you how to be, or for you to try and be strong for." She said with a more gentle tone. She knew there must be more on Hiccups mind than just the village and not being able to run the edge like he had prior. A mother knows best, but with everything she herself was thinking about and going through, maybe her mind was too clouded to see there was something more wrong with her son? ... she felt so neglectful, but she didn't want to force anything out of him either. She wanted him to feel like he could come to her free of judgement or worry.
"I'm hoping we see a rain cutter or two."
