The young changewing was exploring the pine woods step by step, rather far from the nest she had made herself down on the beach in a cave. She knew humans were on this isnald, which she didn't mind a bit, in fact it was the reason she came to this island after seeing dragons with humans on their backs. The dragons being ridden were cleaner and much more elegant than wild dragons like her brothers, and she could help but be jealous of all the odd lovely things they would wear. She would introduce herself to them soon enough, she just wanted to explore the territory for the time being. Her territory, as she saw it. Her territory that she would share with humans and lesser dragons, so long as they weren't aggressive about her appearance. She didn't bother to camaflage either, showing off her golden scales as she fanned her wings out, making a slithering motion as she continued forwards. Animals scurried and came back out as the dragon passed, not showing interest. She was slowly winding her way nearer and nearer to the large village of dragon friendly humans. Due to her kind nature she was already expecting no other Changewings to be there, they were dirty and lowly as well as violent. From her experience humans didn't like that among their nesting grounds. She could just see the peeks of homes through the trees when two curious gronkles caught sight of her and, seeing as she was only one changewing, who wasn't giving a hostile look, they approached her curiously. Alivia didn't pay them any mind, sniffing the air and continuing to walk towards the village, finally humans came into view. Satisfied with her position she sat down. The large off colored dragon looked down at the two dragons that had followed her. Gronkles were known for their friendliness, though Alivia didn't usually to associate with such a common dragon species these lived near humans as she wished to. Maybe they were owned by humans? One appeared to be wearing a saddle, so she reached a claw out and touched it, eyes narrowed. Humans used these smooth things to sit on dragons? Were they comfortable? She was about to ask when the sound of humans calling things out caught her attention. She had been spotted finally, but the humans around her looked worried- one or two looked scared even. ... maybe showing up so close so soon hadn't been the best idea?

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high He'd been drawn away from Hiccup's side by the commotion that hadn't quite reached the human's attention yet, not from the people, but from a few Gronkles that seemed to become very interested in something just beyond the treeline. He was often just as curious as his human was, and Hiccup was woefully distracted by the current marital dispute he was attempting to settle peacefully, which allowed the Night Fury to slip away without notice as he followed the bumbling dragons to find out what had caught their attention.
The wind shifted somewhere along the way to throw a scent at him that made his skin prickle with mild alarm. Changewing. Only one, it was strange, they rarely left their island. His pace took on a more cautious gait as he approached, just out of sight, poking his head around the corner of one of the huts to spot the shimmering golden dragon that the Gronkles seemed so interested in. She didn't seem hostile, which was also curious, she seemed more intrigued that aggressive, so he didn't hesitate to make himself visible, slinking out from behind the hut and approaching carefully, despite the worried voices of the villagers who'd spotted her before he'd gotten there.
He glanced back as one of the worried villagers scurried off, no doubt to tell Hiccup about the curious Changewing. He snorted and shook his head before turning curious green eyes back on the other dragon, coming closer before sitting, close, but not too close, he was ready to spring if she did turn out to be hostile, but for now he was fairly calm, fixing her with a friendly expression.
"You've caused a bit of a stir, it's not often that Changewings decide to visit Berk."

Alivia turned her head as a new smell pricked her nose. It happened to be a form she had spotted before, the same nightfury she had spotted flying over her island a small while ago, and had followed him after the second time she had seen him speed by quicker than any dragon had before, and carrying a human on his back. She tilted her head curiously at the him, glad to have a better look at what he was wearing. All interest gone from the Gronkles. "It's a thanks to you I'm here." She stated, hinting that she had followed him, "You're fast but easy to trace over open ocean. I was startled to see a nightfury every so often, speeding over the trees, especially when I found out you have a rider. So I followed you." She shifted on her legs, sitting up rather than laying down now, her claws digging into the soft dirt below her absentmindedly. "And I'm not visiting. It must sound strange for a changewing to say this but I wanted a home near humans, so I made a nest on the far side of the island. You live in a nest with a human, don't you?" She stole a glance to the ebony dragon's tail, eyes narrowed at the sight. Had a human fixed his tail after some sort of accident? Or was the "accident" caused by humans as well as the new tail? Humans were such odd things with their hands and tools, making and fixing things after ruining them. Though she had to admit everything they made had some sort of style to it. She loved the way the dragon saddles looked, and everything the nightfury was wearing was probably helping him fly, since it was attached to the tail. "And before you ask I'm not here to cause trouble like my brothers would if they resided here. I'm sure as you've noticed I look much different than what'd you usually see on another dragon of my breed," She stated boldly, "Not only am I different, but I'm better in every way. Faster. Bigger. Stronger. And much, much smarter." She crooned as her tail lashed like a cat's behind her, giving the saddled Dragon a smile, "I'm sure a nightfury like yourself knows what it's like to be superior, rare and extraordinary?"

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high He quirked his head to the side, a brow raised a little, so he'd led her here in a way, normally he would feel guilty for such a thing, but since she seemed to have no intent to hard or cause trouble, he was mostly just intrigued. Changewings didn't tend to be so conversational, much more eager to spit acid and run than sit and talk, it was interesting to get a personal perspective from one as unique as she was, he'd certainly never seen one that was such an illustrious gold before. Feeling more relaxed with the situation, he curled his tail around his feet.
"Well, then welcome to Berk, I imagine Hiccup will be here sooner or later to see for himself what the villagers were so worried about."
If he knew his rider, the man would be as intrigued as he was sitting here with her to see a rather peaceful Changewing like this, he could already imagine the excited babbling from the human as he studied her uniquely beautiful scales. He caught her stolen glance at his tail, flicking it with a thoughtful glance.
"you seem especially interested in these things humans build, I can see why you chose to come here, Berk is a good place to settle down given their attitude towards our kind."
He couldn't help a warbling laugh when she jumped to defending her reason for being here, and then proceeded to build herself up quite exponentially, the confidence(or maybe it was more accurate to call it arrogance) was amusing, but he felt it was well deserved for a dragon like her, uniquely colored and uniquely friendly, he tilted his head to the side when her words turned on him, huffing a little.
"I don't know about superior, but I've certainly never met another like me, Hiccup is going to be excited to meet you, I'm sure, he's not gotten many chances to study your kind before."

She was glad to have a warm welcome from a dragon that could n o doubt run her off if she had been hostile enough, and her lashing too behind her relaxed limply. "Make no mistake, I am interested in the things humans wear and do, but I don't wish to have one as a riding companion like you do. I've heard that most riders and their dragons not only fly together but fight together, and I have no dream of risking damaging my looks, though I wager if I had a human like yours I'd be fixed up with something like that tail of yours." She hummed at the thought, but the image of a human riding her and using her to fight was a little sickening. She couldn't bring herself to get her claws dirty, unless it was her own personal affairs of course. She didn't even like to use her own abilities other than hiding from sight, spitting acid wasn't very ... dignified. Her face scrunched up, revealing her thoughts on the matter before she spoke again, "Giving the occasional human a ride doesn't seem too below me though." She said softly, almost as if speaking to herself. "Hiccup? That's an odd name... is he your human?" She asked curiously, tilting her head the other way as she shifted away from one of the Gronkle's trying to lay against her, not in the mood for snuggling, especially not with some other dragon of such common species. She wondered what this nightfury meant by... study. "As long as he's respectful and careful then this 'hiccup' can study me all they like." She stood up and walked closer, going in a semi circle around the nightfury as she examined him closer, doing a bit of studying herself. Her focus seemed mostly on the object on his back, "Is it comfortable when you fly, having all this on you?"

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high He could understand her position, it was interesting to hear what wild dragons thought of humans and the way they interacted with their kind, though he felt the term wild was rather loose for this particular dragon, as she seemed like she would be fairly content to be pampered by the villagers, and he had no doubt that many would fawn over her once they were assured that she meant them no harm, it would be interesting to see how she integrated among the others in that respect. He couldn't help a soft snort of amusement though, when she admitted that occasionally giving humans a ride seemed alright.
"I don't doubt that the villagers will be keen to fawn over you once Hiccup reassures them that you mean them no harm. But not all of us fight alongside our riders, I do, willingly, but some prefer to be companions."
He flicked his tail when she mentioned it, causing the flashy red fabric of the replacement fin to flare out, he nodded at her question, an ear twitching as he heard voices a ways off, not close yet, but he could distinctly here his rider's chattering among them.
"Yes, Hiccup is my rider, he leads the village, he built my tail, and my saddle, after shooting me down several years ago. It's a long story, but he's a good human, a friend to dragons."
He tilted his head back to look behind him as the voices got closer, worried chatter and Hiccup clearly trying to calm people, his attention was caught from that when she asked about his saddle, and he noticed she was circling him.
"It is! He's very good at what he does, I barely feel it there when we're flying, my tail can even lock into place so I can fly solo...But I prefer having him there. He's my brother."

She listened intently as the fellow dragon spoke, though she pretended not to be, "You'd think they would be out here already to investigate. Though I wouldn't dream of harming a random human or dragon, to them I'm still very dangerous, and very close. If I were a human I would have gathered up all the young and gone to the alpha as soon as a dragon like myself was spotted." She scoffed, shaking her head and rolling her eyes before she sat down beside Toothless, looking over all the people and trying to decipher their chatter, though unlike her ebony aquantiance she didn't know a word of humans language. To her it was like a bunch of birds squabbling. Hearing that his human was indeed who fixed his tail was no surprise, but that he was also the one who shot her down made her slightly conserned. "You've been around humans so I'll trust your judgement on them..." She said slowly, a little more reluctant now, though she wanted to see how everything would play out still. Having humans and dragons fawn over her- and the apperant alpha of the humans wanting to look her over as well. It would be as if she really were the royalty she believed herself to be. Again she was surprised to hear the words coming from this nightfury. Brother? A human? Could a dragon and human really be that close? Had it been from the mouth of a nadder or terrible terror, she would have expected it, from a gronkles she would have been surprised to hear anything but that, but a nightfury? "Now I'm curious." She lightly flicked him with one of her vine like ateni atop her head, "You'll have to tell me your story sometime."

So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high "If it was dangerous, Toothless would have driven it off. I don't care if you don't trust my dragon's judgement, I trust him."
His voice was relatively stern as he bit back at the person who'd suggested that maybe Toothless was walking into danger, personally offended on behalf of his best friend that anyone would question the dragon's intelligence, he'd been worried at first when someone came babbling to him about an oddly colored Changewing just watching from the edge of the village, but when the story was supplemented by someone telling him that Toothless was there, his interest was piqued, it had taken him longer to get to the scene only because he'd made a quick trip to his own hut to grab a few things, not willing to turn down any opportunity to write or draw anything out of this encounter.
"They told Hiccup that I was here with you, he trusts my judgement, he knows that if I thought you were a threat. You wouldn't be here."
The words weren't spoken as a threat, just a simple fact that he felt she knew as well, he was a difficult dragon to argue with in a fight, and even though he didn't doubt that she could hold her own, he was also incredibly confident in his own abilities. He was glad that his story hadn't completely turned her away, as it had done before, it was flattering that she put stock in his judgement, given that they'd just met.
"One day I'll tell you our story, but that's a long tale, you'll see for yourself soon enough that my rider can be trusted."
He promised, then turned when he heard the odd footsteps from Hiccup's metal leg, getting to his feet to croon our a greeting to the man. Hiccup chuckled as he approached the pair, still a little careful despite the fact that he trusted his own dragon, Toothless didn't seem concerned with her, but it was difficult to tell how any dragon would be around people.
"You're amazing, they told me you were different but I wasn't expecting such shimmering gold scales, you must be the only Changewing of your kind."
Toothless eyed his rider, then turned an amused expression onto her, huffing out a laugh and coming to sit by her side again.
"He is very impressed by your golden scales."

She tried to listen in still, huffing slightly in frustration as the human with brown hair spoke out louder than the others, but she still couldn't understand him. When Toothless translated she let out a sigh of relief, "Their language is very odd." She mumbled almost defensively, not wanting to seem any less intelligent in front of another dragon, though it was hardly her fault. What dragon who had never seen a human before could understand humans? She wasn't threatened at all by Toothless' statement, though upon hearing it she huffed with another roll of her eyes, tail winding around her claws as she sat up straight like a proud puppy, waiting to be shown off and looked at by gawking creatures. When the human who seemed to be the one Toothless was talking about approached, Alivia's head tilted once again, and her eyes caught sight of the metal leg tapping along. "He has his own wounds too. He must be even more crafty than most humans." Probably why he's their leader too, brains over brawn. She thought to herself, confused as to what the human was excitedly babbling about, it was amusing, making her croon a laugh as she turned her eyes on Toothless, expecting him to translate, which he did. "He is very impressed by your golden scales."
"As he should be~" She said proudly, and instead of raising herself up and expecting the man to bow, instead she lowered her head and leaned in, waiting to see how the boy would react to having such a marvelous creature like herself in his presence, leader of a human village or not, she felt she was superior. She nosed his chest lightly with her nose, as if demanding he pet her.
